Like many of you, I was getting regular battery saver and deep sleep warnings on my 2024 Lariat hybrid, despite driving about 1,000 miles a month. My dealer said the factory battery had a bad cell, and three months ago replaced it with a new AGM Ford battery at no charge.
We left it at a Maine airport, open air parking garage for nine nights recently. Temperatures weren’t terrible while we were away: 25-40 highs; lows upper teens to 20s. I was pretty sure I’d get a battery save message.
I did not. When I got to the truck, it was dark but I don’t believe the dome lights came on. Exterior lights did when I unlocked. The truck started immediately.
This was a time when I couldn’t use my battery tender. I could have done a remote start and idle, but I wanted to see what would happen. I have a warmer, attached garage at home. I realize the AGM might not perform like this forever, but I wanted to report on this test.
