Not my original idea, saw a photo of it elsewhere and decided to build my own. Sharing my build instructions after someone else asked me for them. Lots of room for tweaking. Gotta love the FlexBed!
Materials:
- Two 2x4" 6' or longer pieces of wood
- 6-20+ 6" deck screws
Tools:
- Screwdriver
- Saw (hand, power)
- Drill (Pilot holes makes things easier)
Assembly:
- Cut two 54 1/8" pieces from the lengths, optional cut corners from one side of a length. I have a lined bed, for bare metal bed you might want to go slightly longer. Test that the long boards fit in and out easily before proceeding, you may need to trim a little off. Better to start longer and shorten as needed.
- Cut one, or more, 4" pieces from the remaining wood. I used 5 total.
- Place all the pieces flat, small pieces between the lengths. Put one piece at each end, then space rest along length as you desire.
- Drill pilot holes into edges of lengths where you will be putting spacer blocks.
- Screw from edges into the spacer pieces. You can get away with one screw but I used two from each side.
Optional:
- Cut corners off edges to allow divider to rest against bed, or leave corners to have divider float 1/2" above bed.
- Stain, paint, weather treat wood, or use treated wood.
- Affix eye bolts or hooks along length of bar to affix bags, straps or other items to.
- Add cut material, rubber, etc. to ends so they don't scrape edges of bed.
- @k2rizzle pointed out some nice hooks that work well with this. https://a.co/d/ehdnsBF
- Screw in feet (or similar)
Emergency uses:
- Fuel for fire.
- Weapon.
- Stakes for defense against vampires.

Thanks for info great idea going to try. One question about emergency use. Will it really work as a stake against a vampire? I don't want to get caught in that situation and find out it doesn't. You may have to perform some disassembly first. If you need instructions please DM me.Thanks for info great idea going to try. One question about emergency use. Will it really work as a stake against a vampire? I don't want to get caught in that situation and find out it doesn't. Take care
Thanks! Trust me, I am not a carpenter!Gotta watch out for them vampires!
This looks nice, and that's handy craftsmanship!
It had a long, stressful, day.So my OCD is wondering, why isn't the middle block centered?
You say "TMat." I say "most lopsided game of Tic Tac Toe in history!"I installed a TMat system in the bed of my Mav
I'm more likely to trust some else to pick the produce than I am for it do rematerialize properly after going over wifi . . .i would never trust someone else to pick my produce![]()
Anyone else noticed that it lost a box?i love this pic!
I did something similar but hinged it in the middle so I can just remove a pin, fold it, and lay it in the back without taking up so much room. It also makes it possible to remove it without having to fold back my trifold cover. Not my original idea, saw a photo of it elsewhere and decided to build my own. Sharing my build instructions after someone else asked me for them. Lots of room for tweaking. Gotta love the FlexBed! Total time, about a hour for me with table saw and power tools.

In my small town HEB there are three to seven staff pulling groceries including produce at any time. There are seven parking spots reserved to park in while employees bring orders out to cars. When ordering online you have to schedule your pickup time. I never used the option but I expect that you are allowed to inspect the produce at pickup.go ahead and steal. i just ordered those hooks, will be attaching them this weekend! thanks for sharing!
i would never trust someone else to pick my produce![]()
I saw a movie that had an alien vampire woman that most couldn't bear to drive a stake into. Thanks for info great idea going to try. One question about emergency use. Will it really work as a stake against a vampire? I don't want to get caught in that situation and find out it doesn't. Take care
can you post a pic or instructions? i would have to pin mine off-center because of the block thereabouts. not sure how much more hate that would get me, but would off-set the license plate more!I did something similar but hinged it in the middle so I can just remove a pin, fold it, and lay it in the back without taking up so much room. There are the 2 hinges in the middle. I remove the 2 pins and then pull the divider forward to fold it and remove or lay it down. Certainly wouldn’t need to be that tall but I had the piece of plywood setting around.
Where is the pin that you pull? With the hinges on the tailgate-side, what keeps it from folding in?
The pins are in the 2 hinges. Can’t fold forward or backward with the pins in. When I take the pins out the middle pulls towards the tailgate to fold it.Where is the pin that you pull? With the hinges on the tailgate-side, what keeps it from folding in?

He's not going to tell you there are hinges on the other side also to keep it from folding the other way.Where is the pin that you pull? With the hinges on the tailgate-side, what keeps it from folding in?
