Stole this idea from another member. A 2x6 cut to 54.25 inches. Course sanded and sprayed with 3 coats of Rustoleum bed liner. Nice snug fit.

First, congrats on having a Maverick in which you can place a DIY bed divider! That's a tremendous accomplishment.

Add a couple of drawer handles on top or cut two hand openings for convenience.

I'm thinking about doing the 2x6 and wrapping it in trunk liner carpet (black). Make for a more snug fit in the slots and less scratching, easier to handle. But hey, I've got a solid six months to figure that out!

I love your idea! I've got some liner lying around, I'm gonna try it when I have my truck and a tonneau cover!

Looks great! One small addition to this: If you want to do a third bed divider for the horizontal slot in the front of the bed, the measurement is slightly different, you have to go exactly 55". Just to let everyone know who wants to use all the areas of the flex bed.

I just got my Lariat with sprayed in bed liner, so your idea with the carpet is perfect!

thank you

I have a spray in liner and ran into one little problem. I used a 2x8 and have a Lomax cover. To get the board out, I need to get into the bed to lift the board and maneuver it from under the Lomax rails. If I don't and lift from one side and go to the other side the board will drop back down. I know I could block one side and move back and forth from one side to the other, but that's a pain in the butt to remove one board. The only other way is with two people, one on each side. After all that work, I still need to work the board from under the rails.

Lesson Learned: Use a 2x4 if you have a cover.

On my Lariat OEM sprayed in bedliner, I used two 2X6's instead of one 2X12 because of the manuvering issue. I'm 6'2" and 240 pounds. At 60 years old, I don't hop up and down like in my younger years. The boards do kind of still hit the bed rails if I move them while standing outside the bed.

I used thin, flat rubber strips on just the ends of the boards, (stapled deep) since the rest of the board doesn't touch the truck bed really. I still may wrap them in carpet like the OP said that he was doing.

Oh and no noise either.
Sorry for the quick, sloppy "Paint" job. my garage is a mess so...

I went with a 2x8 for a taller divider. I cut a pipe insulation tube to use on both ends to cushion the board and prevent damage to the paint.
