Stole this idea from another member. A 2x6 cut to 54.25 inches. Course sanded and sprayed with 3 coats of Rustoleum bed liner. Nice snug fit.

I love your idea! I've got some liner lying around, I'm gonna try it when I have my truck and a tonneau cover!I'm thinking about doing the 2x6 and wrapping it in trunk liner carpet (black). Make for a more snug fit in the slots and less scratching, easier to handle. But hey, I've got a solid six months to figure that out!
I dont have a spray in bed liner and the 54 1/4 was a perfect fit!wonder if its <1/4 in longer with no spray in liner
I just got my Lariat with sprayed in bed liner, so your idea with the carpet is perfect!I'm thinking about doing the 2x6 and wrapping it in trunk liner carpet (black). I went with a 2x8 for a taller divider. I cut a pipe insulation tube to use on both ends to cushion the board and prevent damage to the paint.I'm thinking about doing the 2x6 and wrapping it in trunk liner carpet (black).
