I have several "My Mav Mode" modules available now, new casing and little branded sticker, lol.

(My bad, MTC said I can't sell them here unless I sponsor the site. I'm working on that step now)
This works great. Took me about 15 minutes to install. It would have been less time, but I was extra careful removing panels as I know they are cheap plastic. ZERO issues. The instructions were perfect. My Maverick now “defaults” to the ECO mode. 😊

Installed one of these units as well. Shipped quickly and detailed directions for install and to adjust the settings if one desires having it default to a different drive mode than is preset. In about as fast as I can 'Ok' the 'Ready to Drive' prompt it's automagically already in Eco mode.

But why?

Normal mode works just fine. In my Escape with the 2.5L I got 40 MPG in normal mode and Eco mode was totally pointless. And that is with rural single lane highways in mountainous Montana. I simply just kept my foot out of it in town.

Is there some major difference here I am missing? Are most of you that use Eco mode just driving short flat trips around town?

Methinks eco mode for 99% of you is a placebo effect, and your butt dyno is being lied to.

There were on the Escape forums too.

Like I said, placebo and subjective the same as everyone's MPG reports. It's really all about driving habits and location. You can 100% obtain the same results in normal mode as you would in eco mode. Eco mode just makes things like the throttle less aggressive and more sluggish usually trying to hold a higher gear, where as your foot does that in normal mode lol.

Not always a bad thing, just from my experience with it, not something worth switching to. Everyone has their own opinion though. I find the gearing in the EB to already be sluggish and slow enough as is lol. Almost as bad as my Tacoma was. I'd much rather have a decent tune than any pre-programmed driving modes. This way I could get normal throttle, normal shifting and still get the gains of eco mode. The tune on my Tacoma did just that. Improved both performance and changed shirt points. I only got an average of 1mpg gain, but that was also after a 3" lift with 285's. Seems like the Mav EB needs the same kind of tune.

I know this is a majority related to Hybrid owners, but I have that experience with the Hybrid setup in the Escape. Same platform, same as the bronco sport holds much of the similar platforms as well. I personally just found eco mode to be a hassle and when it did figure out I needed a bit more umph, ended up being more aggressive than normal mode.

His "bit" seems to be being obnoxiously cynical about everything.
Or maybe speaking from experience about tunes and driving modes... But you do you.

I've done a tank driving the same route on both modes. For my driving style, I get a big difference with eco mode.

Has anyone built this using the relays recommended by the the OP. I have the sequencer programmed but I am having difficulty with how the timer relay works.

Oh god, pushing a button 4 times is so time-consuming and difficult.

It's not that.

It's just if you forgot one time, one time, you couldn't say you did the whole tank in Slippery Mode to get the world record MPG.

I forget once in a while, but I realize the regen isn't what it's supposed to be, I push the button 4 times.

Relays click. Solid state is the way to go.

I have an off the shelf solution you can PM me about.

Well, I had to test it. Enabled sport and eco mode.

Sport mode is fun on the EB if you hate fuel economy and "overdrive", and eco mode was basically foot to the floor to get from 0-25 in a quarter mile lol.

I can see why they left these modes out. Sport mode is total overkill for 99% of my driving. In the time it takes to visually take my eyes off the road to find the button then switch to sport mode I could have just floored it and got the same results in normal. But yes... Fun.

I got used to the button position in the Escape, but it's a little further back and lower in the MAV. May take some getting used to? It just seems a bit more awkward.

Steering might have been the tightest I have ever experienced outside of a track car in sport mode. No real complaints there.

Eco mode was bleh. I still have nothing positive to say about it. I got very used to the Escape hybrids normal throttle to push the EV as far as possible and never had an issue with efficiency in normal, but, it could be a different experience in the Maverick Hybrid. Just seems unlikely. Very spongy and borderline felt like limp mode. I'm just going to remove it with forscan, but I'll keep sport for the helluvit.
