Dash Rattle Insights

So my 2025 Maverick XLT has a dash rattle-- seems like I'm in good company. The dealer tried multiple times to fix it without success, and now I believe that I have at least found the source, and even made it stop. What worked for me is the silly thing I did in this photo: shoved a piece of leather thong / lacing in the seam underneath the instrument cluster glare shield. By random chance I held my hand along that seem while the dash was rattling, and was amazed to discover how much vibration force was in that area! If you have the dash rattle, try placing your fingers along that seam and see if you can feel it too.

I have the same rattle as do probably most people... I might try something similar. I hope Ford comes out with an official fix...

I had a similar rattle fixed by the dealer under warranty. The service manager said, "There is a bracket under the top cover of the dash that was causing the rattle."

I just turn the volume up on the B&O sound system (probably further contributing to rattles!)....

It's a Ford truck. They build em' rough not tough. I haven't had one that didn't squeak and rattle since....ever.

I turn it up until things start to rattle and buzz.

In case it can help someone, the service tech said this about the repair:

REMOVE IPC AND TRIM ACCESS DASH TRIM TO INSTALL FOAM BETWEEN PLASTIC TRIM

At least you had a dealer mechanic that can do more than follow diagnostitc K1-K7 from the service manual.

My dash rattle was on the left side. I crammed some aftermarket door trim in there and rattle/buzz gone.

I fixed the rattle in this area with a small shim placed just to the left of the the leather shown. My vehicle is a 2025 Tremor. It's been three months now and the annoyance has been silent.

i haven't noticed a rattle in this area on My 2025 Maverick but if it starts this thread is helpful. I do have the annoying clicking noise from the passenger side far right dash windshield area when it's cold outside no noise when it's warm outside. That I've read on here is coming from the windshield alignment pins. I will look into them when the weather gets warm enough to work on it.
