I could see this one being logical due the the off roading/overlanding setup, goes with the whole theme, look and use of the truck. I like this look. Now that Curt application posted earlier on a street truck just looks atrocious (imo), but again it goes down to different strokes for different folks.

My memory just flashed. A 'Continental Kit' from the 60s. A vinyl or fibreglass cover?
That's the nice thing about the Maverick, very easy to customize, mod, Make it your own.

...eliminates some of the downward rake in my front end due to the weight shift to the rear of the vehicle.
This is the most ludicrous reason you could try to use.

Let talk about the fact that, if you need to raise the front end approach angle for some reason. Won't you be dragging that contraption on the back end?
And it isn't cheap, between $135 and $205.
You may have to move the license plate and light.

That screams pure "Mississippi Pimpin'" to me. Keepin' his game tight in Neopolitan Flavor, no less.

This is another take on storing your tire out back...it is the tire carrier on our camper van. Maybe they have one sized for a truck? Maybe without the shiny cover?

It incorporates the tail and brake lights, has an illuminated license plate attachment point as well.

It un-pins so that it pivots to the ground in case you need to get into the back of your truck. It doesn't swing to the side, unfortunately. It also doesn't have a helper spring in it to make lowering the tire easier. And it would definitely impede use of a rear camera etc.

I just keep my Mav spare strapped down in the box of my Mav, under the hard tonneau cover...until spring.

Different folks have different ideas and needs. You just need to figure out what floats your particular boat.

Caveats for me, is that everything has to be safe, legal and leave me all the truck safety systems operational for when I back into our garage, etc.

Have a good one,

Andy

That's a nice camper van you guys have got there, Andy! I'd like to get something like that when I eventually retire. :)
