My tire sizes, including the spare tire are:

Ford Maverick Spare tire size... tir

The spare tire is a good'ol doughnut and the tire height/diameter is 3.1" less and about 85 rotation more in a mile than the 18" tires. The chances are it is ok on the road, but not on the driven wheels. If the doughnut replaced by 225/65R17 tire, it would be 0.1" less height/diameter and about four rotation more in a mile than the 18" tires. The question is, will it fit into space where the doughnut is under the truck?

My XLT Hybrid with LuX AND cp360 came with the 'full' size spare, but it is not a matching tire or wheel to the 4 road wheels/tire. The 4 are 225/65R17 on alloy wheels. The spare is a 215/60R17 on a steel wheel.
Compared to the 'donut' spare it is full size. About five years ago, I had a flat, I actually hit debris from a car accident and destroyed the left front tire and wheel on the CRV. The donut spare got me through the long weekend, but after a day, I rotated the donut to the back axle. The narrow tread when on the front would get stuck in the long cracks/seams in the pavement and would pull the car in the direction of the pavement. I don't think that there is any manufacturer that would use an alloy wheel as a spare. Some new cars don't come with any spare, only an aerosol can of fix a flat, but that does't work with a 3" cut in the sidewall.

That's pretty amazing because my 245/65R17 had plenty of room.

Take off a drive tire and stick it up there. I did it with my KO2 and it fit fine. Just make sure to get the little blue spacer back on there properly lol. I didn't the first time and it was a disaster. You can see my report on page 2 of my build log in my sig. Also there is this thread:

They used to, my '98 F150 STX had full size spare, including the alloy wheel and even the tire matched. The '05 Toyota Avalon also has full size spare, including alloy rim, still have the car and love it. I guess it cut into profitability and they cut it out by now... ;)

It's good to know that the 18" wheel would fit up there, off to search junkyard for 18" wheel that would fit the Maverick.
