Spare tire carrier mounted in bed ?

Looking to mount a spare tire carrier in the bed. I am running 245/65 17 A/T and was told that size will not fit under the truck(stock spare tire area). Has anyone done this yet?

Perhaps you design a trailer hitch swing out tire carrier like is available on many other vehicles???? Just a wild thought....... It would save already limited bed space.

Do you have pictures of what it looks like? I'll be towing cross-country and hoping to bring along a real full size spare along. I have the 235/65/r17 Wildpeaks.
