I wonder if a tankful of 89 octane would be worth trying (just for shits and giggles) to further improve the performance. I'm just too frugal to try it , since it does so well on Top Tier regular 87 gas . Not having a turbo (like my Fusion or EB Mustang) , which they both "wake up" when treated to Premium-just wondering if anyone has opted for the extra cost fuel.

No thanks. Can't stand the fake shift experience. It always reminds me of a bipolar clunk-o-matic conventional automatic transmission that can't decide which gear to be in, during "punch it" events.
Love Sport Mode when I use it. Love the fake Coyote V-8 when accelerating briskly. Dont care for the jerkiness on and off the throttle.

I heard you can extend your oil change interval with higher octane.

Power to weight ratio seems decent.
But, it must be the electric torque.

'22 Jeep Renegade 1.7L = 25.9 lbs/hp

'22 Tacoma 2.7L = 25.8 lbs/hp

'22 Colorado 2.5L = 22.4 lbs/hp

'22 Maverick Hybrid 2.5L lbs/hp = 19

'22 F-250 6.2L = 17.5

'22 Maverick Ecoboost FWD = 14.4

'20 Mini Cooper Supercharged = 10

Porsche 911 = 6.4

'20 Aston Martin V12 = 5.2
It absolutely is because of that electric torque. F1 cars use a hybrid setup too for that extra boost when they need it. Though theirs is a

It'll also recharge your flooded battery as if it was an agm, got rid of my deep sleep issues!

Seems like the Tow mode is the same sort of engine always-on high Motor usage while keeping the battery @ 70% SOC - without the shift points thrown in.

After that thread discussion I've only tested it once, but seemed similar from the gauges.

I have a 2022 Ecoboost Mustang convertible and the trick with those is to change the driving mode from Normal to Sport. It makes a huge difference. Mine is a manual transmission though so that might also help but I'm not sure because I've never driven one with the 10 speed Auto.
I changed it to sport, turned traction control off and it was still a lagging dog… Im sure a manual makes a huge difference.

I'm more impressed with the gas mileage. My last car was a hybrid escape and the maverick gets better mileage than the escape did even though the maverick has a lower MPG rating.

Only about 2 to 3 MPG lower than my Prius was here!

Impressed with power of the hybrid? Not really, it's nothing special. It's dead on what you'd expect at this price point.

My Maverick and 13 prius get the same mpg now. The traction battery is nearing end of life, getting warnings in neutral coasting through car wash.

Heh.... yeah to be fair, mine was a '13 with 140k miles on it. Was still getting 43-ish MPG. Ran great though and I did my first brake job (front only) at 130k!

You've got TWO power plants under the hood instead of one. Why wouldn't it lean towards the fast side??? 😎
Well, for the mpg's and economy aspect I was ready for perhaps less than average performance accelerating. Also, I read up on it and there were some naysayers out there writing about it. Given the specs of the electric motor and Atkinson engine I expected average and was pleasantly surprised by better than average.
What sold me was when I found out it was an eCVT instead of that belt and pully system. I'm not shy about "stepping on it" occasionally as I would be with regular CVT. If I want to go fast and cheat death I get in the Miata or the motorcycle.

Now. If it would just last me a couple hundred thousand miles I'll be ecstatic. The only reason I would upgrade is if they come out with a SuperCab and 6' bed. Just have to find a wat to modify that bumper with the flaps on it.

Perhaps because both are relatively small in terms of power? Less combined horsepower than the 2006 Colorado that I swapped for the Maverick hybrid.

I ordered the hybrid without having driven a maverick of any kind so yes, I was pleasantly surprised❗😉
They let me test drive (I think it was) the Edge. The only thing that surprised me was the brakes. Salesman was ready with his hands on the dash.
