SPort mode from a stop is impressive. Passing cars I'm usually over 70 by the time I'm passing and holding at 65mph up a 7deg grade for 20 miles getting about 17mpg

I haven't "punched" my hybrid Mav yet. I'm afraid I'll break the CV axles! Just kidding! I bought the hybrid for fuel economy so I drive easy. I have my 67 Shelby GT500 when I need to put my foot into it! :)
I will say I am impressed with the Mav, it scoots along pretty well as far as I am concerned.
Forget the Hybrid Mac! Pics of that Shelby please!!

"Impressed" with the power? No. But exactly what I expected and ALL I need. Owned a Hybrid Cmax before, the Maverick actually seems a tad bit quicker. And a tad bit better on fuel.
Main reason I own the Maverick is that it is lightweight and can be flat towed behind a motorhome.

67 GT 500 power! I own #214 69 GT 500. Yes, they are fun to drive. I have driven true 11 second street cars too much to think they are fast by todays standards. BUT...there IS a feel to big block burnout, the smell, vibration, and the look of a realshelby that new cars don't have.....

There is a certain stretch of highway just outside a nearby town known as the "drag race". It is the last red light before a 1/2 mile straight stretch of 4 lane non-residential road , where it is kind of a daily thing after work where traffic competes to see who can make it to the cutoff point back to 2 lanes at the end of this stretch . Wife and I happened to be side by side at the light ,when she attempted to "smoke " me in the Taurus against my Mav. Hybrid. I was impressed as the floored Mav. came into it and passed her. I know ...a 2013 Taurus SE is no racecar, but at almost 300 hp it can hold it's own against a lot of less capable sedans. Mav. impressed me when floored-I guess the electric kicked in with the gas motor..........still a fun ride even at 45+ mpg .:)
I wouldn't say impressed. Maybe satisfied. I was driving with a friend at 20mph and he was impressed when I floored it and his head snapped back to the headrest thanks to the instant torque from the electric motor.

Your 69 Shelby looks great! 4 speed? I had a 4 speed in my 67 but put the original C6 automatic back in. Mild shift kit, runs nice. Automatic to 4 speed was all bolt in. I saved the firewall knock out plug for the clutch rod and reinstalled it for the automatic.
Sorry to everyone for going off topic :)

My first car was a clapped out '49 Chevy. Three on the tree stick shift, AM tube type radio, now and then heater, no AC, bench seat and NO safety features of any kind. Burned a quart of oil and a gallon of gas every 12 to 15 miles.
The Maverick is a rocket ship on a cloud compared to that.

I just went to Home Depot.

4 Mavericks in the parking lot.

When I started backing out, I got waves and smiles from 2 other owners when they heard the clank clank clank pedestrian warning.

One shouted (with a smile) "I wondered who started my truck!"

They're much better for those trips than in an F150. Easier to load too. And it's been so great for my small business.

I wouldn't say it's impressive but adequate. Freeway passing takes a little pre-planning but it's not bad at all.

I just got back from some corporate training in the Ft. Walton Beach/Destin area. My rental was a 2024 Chevy Malibu with the 1.5L turbo 4 cylinder with only 4k miles. That thing was a turd. It had bad turbo lag and the CVT was horrible. I couldn't wait to turn it back in and get home to my Maverick hybrid.

The Maverick feels like a muscle car compared to that Malipoo.

I don't understand why a small hybrid truck designed to fill a need for versatility and good gas mileage has to be a drag racer?! Why do people want every vehicle to be something different? why not buy what you really want? The Maverick truck fits a lot of peoples needs. It's not a great tow vehicle or a drag racer. But then Ford makes F150 and Super Duty trucks and the Ford Mustang..

I am very impressed relative to my expectations.

The peak HP & torque numbers aren't good, but the delivery is so quick and smooth. Power has been more than adequate in all conditions.
