Fits my needs perfectly... haul two band members gear back and forth to gigs, sometimes three of us... light-duty hauling of garden supplies and/or lumber from time to time. Gets me to and from work three or four days a week.
About 40mpg average... XL Hybrid... only factory/dealer option...
Ah I will check my lease paperwork then.
So you don't pay a mileage fee if you buy it? If so that's good news. We honestly didn't think it would become our daily driver when we bought it. I only work 9 months out of the year and even then only 3 to 4 days a week so we were thinking it would be...
Was it a painless process? Did you go over your miles... that's one thing I'm wondering about. I'm going to go way over since we like it so much we pretty much use the truck for everything including road trips.
Curious if anyone has any experience buying out their lease through Ford Credit to refinance as a purchase and care to share their experience with process? I've firmly decided I want to keep this truck for a long long time and so I am seriously considering doing that.
I've also considered just...
Heh.... yeah to be fair, mine was a '13 with 140k miles on it. Was still getting 43-ish MPG. Ran great though and I did my first brake job (front only) at 130k!
Wanting to do this for my XL but I'm seeing conflicting info on doing these... are the holes pre-threaded or not? Some are saying use a tap (possible danger if already pre-threaded) and some are saying use a thread chaser. Any thoughts on this?
Also I am using the Bed Rug textured/padded floor...
Yeah in my mind a plugin-hybrid is the best of both worlds. Decent EV range for around town and short commutes coupled with zero range anxiety for longer trips.
EV's have wicked fast acceleration. Eats the battery if overdone though!
There is a shop near London that does full-on EV converts...
Heh, yeah living in nearby Turlock I can certainly relate to the annoyance of the jacked-up coal rollers.
Love my Mav XL Hybrid, but my "dream machine" is a 1969 Chevy C10 fully converted to EV and modern suspension. What would your MJC students think of a project like that I wonder?
As much...
That looks just like the Bak X2 model. Now I'm glad I went with the X4s. But the current 25% off plus reward points makes the Ford offering mighty attractive!
I really miss my Forester. Believe it or not, it is a pretty darn capable off-roader. Not hardcore Jeep capable, but I've been on some pretty hairy roads with it. I love the utility of the Maverick though. I have just the XL hybrid but if I want to do any mild to mid off-roading I now have an...
Looking at this further... I am thinking maybe the X4S/Ford offering is better for me than the Sentry CT because of the bed sides attaching at each slat on the X4S instead of just a middle latch with the CT. I know nothing is 100% thief proof, but for my regular cargo (guitars/amps/etc), the...
UPDATE: I went ahead and ordered the Bak X4s from @Realtruck. I went with it over the Sentry CT for the extra security from the feature where each slat has its own locking device all the way down the bed. Thanks for all the help!
