guys, I don't even have a hybrid but I wanted to post this here for anyone who doesn't have Forscan. especially for the people who have looked at Forscan and decided that's not something they feel comfortable getting into.

any time you replace a battery in a late-model Ford, you reset the Battery Monitoring System. it's easy and it's supposed to learn the battery type and capability automatically. I don't think this is the same as tweaking it in Forscan, but it's extremely easy. This is in the owner's manual.

Battery Sensor Reset (Battery Management System (BMS) Reset):
When you install a new battery, reset the battery sensor by doing the following:
1. Switch ignition on, and leave the engine off.
Note: Complete Steps 2 & 3 within 10 seconds.
2. Flash the high beam headlamps five times, ending with the high beams off.
3. Press and release the brake pedal 3 times.
The battery warning lamp flashes 3 times to confirm that the reset is successful.

Doesn't look like an H5 battery will fit. Small tabs either side of the battery mount keep the battery from sitting down properly. I tried the H5 from Walmart and it's too long!

I stalled this battery:

Duralast Platinum BCI Group, Size 47, 680 CCA H5-AGM Battery. It fits. It was just slightly taller.

I looked at that battery also but because the length is also 9-1/2" long it wouldn't fit between the tabs in the picture I posted. The tabs are about 8-1/4" apart. I would like to see how you have it installed?

Correct. They need to be cut off or flattened.

I will take some pictures, but I don't want to pull out the plastic housing all around. All I can say is my battery fit. I was able to use the stock clamp and bolt it down. It has the same dimensions around the four corners as the stock battery. It just sits about a 1/2 inch taller.

Perhaps my tabs are either down or not there? I really didn't have an issue getting this battery in. I got the H5 because another MaverickTruckClub guy had photos on how to do it. I will try to find his link/thread.

I Installed the ACDelco LN1AGM battery in place for Ford's OEM BXT99RT4-A that was in my Maverick hybrid.

The LN1AGM weighs 32.5 lbs, the BXT99-R is 27 lbs.
They're nearly identical physical size.
The LN1AGM has vent holes at each end of the battery for connecting the vent line and comes with a plug for the unused vent hole at the opposite end of the battery.

Wondering if you had deep sleep problems and if so, did this resolve the issue.

you know. that's probably the only battery i've seen with a 4 year warranty. Also the ease of getting a replacement because its walmart probably helps if it goes bad.
Did this fit without any modification?

Thanks for reminding us of this important procedure.

Tabs are easily removed with a cut off wheel to make room for a OPTIMA YELLOW TOP😊. Did this last summer and no more sleep issues

Never got one myself. but as other posters have shown, to fit in any H5 battery. you need to take apart the under seat shroud to put the battery in. I may fit as is or need a small modification but over all that size battery will fit.

I haven't had Deep Sleep on this 2.5L
I do charge the 12V battery twice a month. Did that this morning.
