I’m going with a compustar remote start installed at auto trim, same guys that will do the spray in bed liner.
I have zero cell reception in my building at work, but radio wave tech still works.
I’m not stepping outside at -40° just to use a free app.
I can just start it from my desk 20 minutes before having to drive home.
I have them in all my vehicles, all were installed when they were new and still work just as they did 22 years ago.
Sounds like you have, unique conditions that are hard to disagree with 😉

I agree the free ford pass app is handy for remote starting.

However, not all of us are lucky enough to live in an area with sufficient cell coverage to allow the built in remote start to work.

For that reason, I’ll be adding this kit to my father’s Maverick

Hey Mavheads,

I just successfully added Remote Start to my 2023 EB for just $99. Super easy (about 10 minutes install). Uses standard key fob (lock-unlock-lock). Works like a charm. Only cost $99. Just in time for the wet/cold Oregon winter.

Find it here: https://remotestartx.com/2023-ford-maverick-standard-key-remote-starter/

If you're looking to add remote start for cheap using the standard fob, I recommend this option!

Cheers!

This is one of the best convenience modifications posted.

Ford pass app. It's free.
You're absolutely correct, but the hybrids suffer from a deep sleep problem whereby the remote start (along with other features) is disabled. Fortunately, the Ecoboost folks don't have this problem.

If it doesn't work with hybrids, this is a great option that does, FORD PERIMETER PLUS VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM. Including installation (although I've heard it's not that hard to do yourself), it's $305 ($245 w/o). I got mine with points, ended up costing me about $35. A big plus is that besides the remote start, you get the Ford Perimeter Plus Vehicle Security System.
Ford app is free and does this.. Why spend the money

Maybe read the rest of the thread. This response over and over again is getting tiring.

Because some people don't trust that the ford app will keep working long term.

Because some people live in or spend time in places with bad cell coverage.

Because it's more convenient sometimes to not have to dig out your phone.

Because I can activate my keyfob with gloves on.

Because not everyone has a smart phone.

Because maybe you want to lend your truck to someone but not give them access to your FordPass account.

If you personally don't need it, great. You don't need to. But there are a ton of reasons someone else might want it.

AARGH! 🏴‍☠️ ;)

I hear ya on the NO SERVICE mobile reception. Same issue in my rural location. Lotta places round here don't have wired internet or mobile service available. A lot of friends have to resort to $tarlink for internet & wi-fi calling over it. At least I do have 18mbps DSL, which works fine, except for the <1 mbps uploads. Neighbors down the road can't even get DSL.

When my truck arrives, I'ma get the remote start that OP posted.

I'm in populated areas 99.9% of the time, so thankfully don't have cell phone issues very often at all. For those of you in these areas, the $99 option is well spent.

This option is also great for anyone who simply chooses not to have the app on their phone.

For those who say why do, it's on the app, this is a post from a Facebook Maverick group post, "
My remote start isn't working through Ford pass anymore, I have tried everything, I checked settings in truck to make sure it was on,Cleared Data and Cache, Uninstalled app from phone, restarted phone and installed fordpass again, restarted phone again. I Can lock and unlocked doors but not start Truck. I get a message saying failed to start. Anyone have this issue and find a fix, or do I have to take in to dealer. The last time I used it was in May with no issues at that time"

Many of the replies stated that they too have had this issue.
