XL remote start

I'm curious, is there any way to remote start the XL other than the phone app? I'm picking up my truck soon and noticed it's listed but lists the app specifically. Just curious.

My XLT Hybrid did not come with remote start, so I got this: FORD PERIMETER PLUS VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM. $245.00 plus $60 for installation. Works like a charm. When activated by your Ford Dealer, the Basic Remote Start System is also included; start your vehicle from up to 300' away. I would think it would work on your XL.

What is the advantage of those systems? Does it use another fob? I can't honestly see it being faster then remote starting it from my Apple Watch. I would suggest getting an Apple Watch and just using that as your new "fob" lol

For one, the fob start works even where there is no cell signal. City folks may think that doesn't exist, but it's very common in rural hilly areas.

Two, it works with the existing key fob, without buying yet-another-ridiculously-expensive-device to keep charged and futz with.

I have Start-X, that bighap posted a link to. It works flawlessly with the existing OEM fob, with no additional devices to carry around or wear. To use it, just hit LOCK>UNLOCK>LOCK on the fob.

I've it in my 24 XLT FX4. Yes, it works if you're 5ft-10ft from vehicle be on that it's useless.

Fairway Ford has it for $190. I'll self-install. Now that Start-X is $120, I think this kit makes more sense to buy. Plus you'll get an insurance discount!
