I should trust Ford then. Not like a new CEO after a bad dividend could change a companies plans or what they said they would do.

Today the remote starter is $100. It's well worth it to me knowing that no matter what Ford, a phone mfg, a tech change does, I will have a remote start.

I use the app and the fob. Depends on what is close at hand.

Your truck already has remote start through the Ford Pass app.

Yes it does. But some of us prefer to not use the Ford pass app.

In addition to being not very secure and collecting all our data, the app is considerably slower to use. Key fob is fast and easy. And now cheap.

Honestly, the key fob is quicker and easier. I plan to get one of these as remote start was the only option I miss. I camp too often to rely completely on FordPass.
Yes, but you can program a start time on the app.

The App can Remote Start from anywhere where cell access is available even across the country.

I can start/stop my Maverick in long term parking at the airport where I left it for an extended vacation/trip. That way I can keep the HV/12 Volt batteries charged.

The Key Fob Remote Start cannot do that.

The Key Fob Remote Start is very range limited.

Which makes no difference if neither my truck or phone has a signal.
I camp no more than 10 days a year, so at least I don't have that issue. I don't retire for 10 more years.

Yup. Hate that app. It's great for people who are at a distance from their vehicle and such, like in an apt. building or something, but luckily that's not me. I point the remote out the window and the sewing machine kicks on.

Pretty shocking too how some companies want to charge you to use it, even if you pay for remote start.
*cough "TOYOTA!"
I personally have one single $10 "subscription" and I aim to keep it that way. Bad enough internet is over $100 for Starlink where I live.

Just a thought. Could you people that are pulling "toads" use the Ford Pass app remote start while in transit? Or does the vehicle need to be stopped for its "start every 6 hours" to lubricate everything and charge the battery.

If it doesn't work with hybrids, this is a great option that does, FORD PERIMETER PLUS VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM. Including installation (although I've heard it's not that hard to do yourself), it's $305 ($245 w/o). I got mine with points, ended up costing me about $35. A big plus is that besides the remote start, you get the Ford Perimeter Plus Vehicle Security System.
I've got mine for around 200 bucks on sale, well worth for the extra money for getting Perimeter Plus VSS. The installation steps are pretty much the same as with Start-X and installed it myself:

This doesn’t work for hybrids correct? Product details says not for hybrids but was hoping for some confirmation one way or the other….
Yes I use the app a lot now but would like it on the fob.
I just installed it on Monday on my 23 hybrid Larait works like a charm

Hey Mavheads,

I just successfully added Remote Start to my 2023 EB for just $99. Super easy (about 10 minutes install). Uses standard key fob (lock-unlock-lock). Works like a charm. Only cost $99. Just in time for the wet/cold Oregon winter.

Find it here: https://remotestartx.com/2023-ford-maverick-standard-key-remote-starter/

If you're looking to add remote start for cheap using the standard fob, I recommend this option!

Cheers!

Already got it through the Ford Pass App. Even works on my Apple Watch!
