odometer is now showing 190miles and Mpg is at 28.7. From now on out itll be strictly city stop and go driving with a ton of turning truck OFF and ON (Pool boy) with about 1,000lbs constantly payload . Will give update in a weeks worth of driving

I’m still driving around hoping things “fix themselves”. The dealers say they won’t look at it until it has 1000 miles. Right now it’s just over 500.

if I hit the reset and drive on a highway run the mileage is stellar. As high as 30.5. Usually in the mid-to-high 20s. Once I get off the highway the average rapidly dips back into the mid teens.

I suppose I could post a picture of the dash monitor if that’s what you really need to see, but honestly I’ve got absolutely nothing to gain by lying to y’all.

On a positive note the truck is pretty amazing to drive. It rides and handles like no other truck I’ve ever owned.
im confident that it will get sorted out, if it doesn’t sort itself out.
What are your actual mpg calculated at the pump? Is your tail pipe inside covered in black soot?

Perhaps I will do a mileage calculation on my next fill-up, but for right now my goal is to drive and enjoy it and see what happens. I try not to even look at the meter, but of course curiosity gets the best of me.

Tailpipe is clean. I doubt there’s any engine or emissions trouble, as that would trigger a light.

If I had to make a guess I’d say it could be transmission related. I have nothing to compare it to but my previous 2018 F150 (V6 8 speed) but compared to that the trans seems clunky and winds out a bit before changing gears. Downshifts when it doesn’t really need to. My old truck you couldn’t even feel the gears change. Also my highway only mileage is quite impressive.

When/if I get an answer I will post it. Honestly I’m not trying to be an attention-monger as some might suggest. Just sharing real-world experience with one of the first Mavericks off the line.

Anyone test the indicated MPG vs. MPG at the pump yet?
Got my first fill up today. The truck had 400.6 on the ODO. 391 being miles I have put on it, and the 9mi that was on the car when I took possession (I have a sneaking feeling the salesman took her for a spin and was not gentle) I filled it up with 13.687 gallons of 91 octane. The math on that puts me at 29.2686491 Mi/Gal. The onboard computer had me at 31mpg but that was reset after I got home from the dealership.

* I have been driving it super gentile. I have not had the engine over 3K RPM, with the 8 speed transmission that's an easy feat. and I have not had it over 70mph. My driving has been a mix of stop and go and highway with a wee bit of dirt road driving for a photo shoot.

For reference it is a 2.0 AWD with the FX4 pkg. NO 4K tow.

I managed over 500 to the tank this past weekend. A bit of an extreme one off but it’s possible! Drove from Moab Utah to Phoenix Arizona (450miles) with still 70 miles til empty on the display! My complete trip from Denver to Phoenix averaged 31.5. Plenty of 80mph cruising and even 90 during the Utah portion.

My first tank from the dealer I got about 25 MPG. I filled it up this weekend and right now I am getting about 27.8 MPG. Combination of highway and city driving with some country roads mixed in.

Just got back from Granger! Picked up my truck this morning with 22 miles on the odometer.

Trip back was 2/3 on the interstate at 75mph with some strong cross winds. Then we got on the Minnesota backroads the rest of the way home. That included driving at speed just above 60, plus probably a dozen full stops and half a dozen small town slow downs.

Last 15 miles were more spirited driving on the scenic byway near our house.

Up until we got off the interstate I was at about 29.5. as you can see ended the first trip at 31.5. not bad! I also noted the gauge dropped to half full at 257 miles on the main odometer... Not sure at what point in the first 22 miles Granger filled it up.

I’d be ticked if my custom ordered truck had 22 miles already on it.

Hi everyone I’m new here, but I wanted to jump in and say I’m having the same problem with poor fuel mileage, I’ve included a couple pictures of my gauge. One thing I’ll also note is the auto stop start on my truck doesn’t work. I’ve contacted the dealership and am going to bring it in so they can look at it. I wonder if that has anything to do with the poor MPG’s? When I come to a stop the screen says engine on due to vehicle charging….no matter how long I’ve driven.

That’s super odd. Perhaps your 12V battery is bad and that’s the cause of the no auto start stop? But that wouldn’t explain the low MPG. My normal driving is still above 25 regularly.

I drive 70 miles a day for work with about 30% highway, about 20% city and about 50% country roads (50-60mph, few stops but on and off the brakes for corners and other cars). Mine is getting roughly 28mpg.

You have almost 8hrs of run time for less than 100 miles driving?

That’s pretty standard for a new car. I’ve bought 5 new cars over the years and none of them had less than 10 miles on them. They are driven at the factory for testing.

My Mav had 28 when I picked it up.

Oh and I’m getting about 25.6MPG in about 50/50 mixed. Still only 300 total miles.

Yeah was going to mention that - if you have had your car idling for long periods of time that factors into mpg. I’ve never had a car with auto stop start so maybe this is normal, but it doesn’t turn off everything I come to a complete stop. I think it only works when the engine is fully warmed up
