What MPG are you getting with the AWD 2.0 Maverick

I'm getting slightly more than 22 mpg from my stock EB AWD Maverick. My driving is probably the worst possible case for mileage, short of towing. 99% is 30-45 mph, traffic light to traffic light, suburb driving.

Taken 2 trips since purchasing used 22 Lariat AWD. 1st trip 499.5 miles/ 14.7 gal @60-65mph that’s 34mpg 2nd trip 218.2 miles/6gal @55-65 mph comes to 36.3 mpg. I use cruise control almost 100% of time

Pictures posted in reverse order of description. Mpg stated is hand calculated but real close to Mavericks trip computer. I checked odometer to mile markers on 10 mile stretch of road and it’s within 1-2%. Used 87 octane regular with 10% ethanol.

Just got home from my 3rd trip in my Maverick AWD. Purchase used with 8900 miles so it’s already broke in. First trip 499.5 miles 14.7 gallons 34mpg. 2nd trip 218.2 miles 6 gallons 36.3 mpg. 3rd trip 439.6 miles 12.4 gallons 35.4 mpg. All hand calculated each one was within +or - 0.5mpg of truck computer. First two trips was half and half flat level terrain and up and down hills of 600-700 ft elevation change. 3rd trip was 40% level terrain 50% up and down hills with elevation changes of 1000 ft in Ozarks plus 10% of stop and go traffic in towns and numerous stops at flea markets.

I have probably the least fuel efficient configuration. In my only significant trip (250 miles one way), I got about 28.5 mpg with cruise around 72mph average. This was with a direct headwind of 15-20 mph though.

I imagine in the summer without the nasty wind I'd be pushing 30 mpg no problem.

I drive about 65 and with no head wind I get in mid 30s using cruise control.

Seems my AWD lariat is turning about 1600-1700 at 65. The key to great mpg is use that cruise control as much as possible, I use mine to speed up a slow down. I’ll bump it up a couple taps at a time. Example going from 45-55, I’ll tap it 2 times let it get to 47 then tap a couple times again to get to 49 and son if you do that rather than bump up all way to 55 or use foot so transmission doesn’t kick down to lower gear as often. Also when stopping start early by coasting a bit. And I don’t use eco mode as it seems to burn a little more gas than normal mode. Main thing is act like there’s an egg under the gas pedal. I have seen 42 mpg on an 60 mile trip and that’s with an AWD.

28.4 driving mildly aggressive on the interstate. Can't wait to see it after it breaks in.

My mechanic said not to drive aggressively until engine breaks in. The piston rings need to set. I also asked him about best oil to use. Ford recommends synthetic blend & he agreed, but said after about 10,000 miles he'd switch to full synthetic.

What rpm are you guys running at 65mph? How about rpm with 4k vs standard EB at 65mph?

I forgot to check the specifics, but here's a shot of my EB 4K on the highway today. This is with winter blend gasoline, too. The MPG should increase by about 10% when the warm weather formula hits the pumps. I love that it gets better mileage than my Subaru Forester did, while also having a LOT better performance.

Looks like about 1800 RPM at about 68-69 MPH...

And your 4k maybe 300 rpm higher than a non 4k. As long as it stays below 2k rpm mileage should be decent

2.0 XLT FX4, just turned 4500 miles. It's my commuter so same route daily, eight miles to fwy on city streets, 30 miles freeway to work. Started out averaging 27/28 mpg. About the time I hit 3k it started improving, I am sitting currently at a steady 30 mpg each tank, 70-72 mph on fwy each day.
