  1. This will be the last Ford I buy

I think there are a couple of truths here. Expecting to get good resale from a production vehicle is a fools errand. The prices from 2022 & 2023 for used vehicles were way outside the norm and not likely to be repeated. Any dealer can tell you that. In 2022 I was offered what I paid new for...
  2. RDU Rebuild

My RDU failed at 21K my understanding is there are no parts available to repair these and no repair is to be attemped on the unit. This is a Dana part and is replaced as a unit. Mine was replaced under warranty no issues. I looked up the part Ford list was around $900 so not real expensive...
  3. Do you tow with your Maverick?

I got an F350 to tow with usually. However I used the Maverick with a trailer while the F350 was down for a blown intercooler pipe. Maverick tows fine, plenty of power but towing puts a serious dent in the fuel mileage.
  4. Weight in the back / bed -- 470 lbs load ok?

470 is nothing I haul 1000+ pounds all the time. Truck handles it no problem. This truck can work.
  5. Cargo capacity wake up

I've had 1000 pound pallet in the back several times and did not feel overloaded at all or excessive compression on the rear springs. When hauling weight make sure the tires are fully inflated 35+ PSI. Low air pressure in the tires can make a truck feel overloaded. Tow/haul mode makes a...
  6. Using Thicker Oils During Hot Weather

These engines are not like the old days. The internal clearances are very tight and require thinner oil to flow properly. I got a deal on a Crown Vic with a spun rod bearing because 10W-40 oil was used when 5W-20 was specified by Ford. The Crown vic was a fleet vehicle and the mechanic...
  7. Lane centering inop when trailer connected, dealer couldn't fix.

Bingo! I am sure it was disabled as the result of a lawsuit Ford lost. Notice it has been disabled on a number of vehicle families which means the lawsuit may have had nothing to do with an actual MAVERICK incident. As an Engineer there are some rather interesting vehicle dynamics that occur...
  8. Payload - 1800 doable? 24' hybrid

My truck works every day and hauls stuff. I've done 1500lbs that was a scaled weight no issues. Air up the tires put it in tow/haul mode and go for it. Take your time and you'll be fine. Most truck weight limits have more to do with brake performance than the actual powertrain limitations...
  9. Auto-stop eliminator?

Mine went on the day I got the truck :ROFLMAO: It's been to the dealer a couple of times no issues or questions.
  10. A needle in my haystack (Maverick)?

As someone who has worked in the textile industry. That is a broken off needle from the needle punch loom which makes the carpet. The carpet is needle punched as part of the carpet manufacturing process.
  11. Who does not have a bed liner?

None because when I ordered mine getting the factory spray in liner was causing build delays so I opted not to order. I've seen truck beds rusted out due to wear between the drop in plastic liners and the bed so I am not a fan of those. We use this as a work truck and load & unload pallets in...
  12. John Deere Green 2024 Tremor Maverick with MRT side exhaust

Exhaust exit in front of the wheel looks cool and everything but it will corrode the wheel eventually. Ask any owner of a '96 F150 about this. (I have first hand knowledge and I'm sure Ford bought a bunch of corroded wheels under warranty) Ford tried this factory stunt for 1 year in '96 and...
  13. Experience with nitrogen in tires?

Unless your racing or a manufacturer of tires testing them nitrogen is unnecessary. My Maverick has nifty tire pressure display that is actually pretty accurate with what my tire gauge reads. Check the display in the and dash an adjust as need for the seasons. On our big trucks we pre-trip...
  14. TSB 24-2182 - SYNC 3 - Various SYNC Symptoms

The OTA update caused many of these issues...........Mine was perfect until the OTA failed. I find it unlikely the root cause of the problem is the correction. Dealer updated the software and fixed the issues under warranty.
  15. Display problems

It's probably a failed over the air software update. Mine had similar issues after a failed over the air update. A trip to the dealer for a couple of software updates and all is good again. It was handled under warranty and I was given a free loaner while repairs were being made
  16. Radio Returns to Home Screen Each Time I Start Truck.

Mine had the exact same issue due to a failed over the air update. This seems to be a known issue. It had to go to the dealer for a couple of software updates. Handled under warranty and given a free loaner while they had the truck. All is good now.
  17. Map app not displaying

There was some sort of over the air update for the radio that went out 6 weeks ago. The update in my truck failed and it had been acting flakey ever since. XM not working right, sometimes locked up on a black screen, sometimes backup camera locked on even when in drive. The truck just went to...
  18. 2024 2.0 EB AWD/4k grabby brakes

It's gets better. The brakes are very aggressive initially until the pads and rotors get burnished. Also your foot will learn to go easy. It took 3-4K miles in mine before the brakes got more progressive feeling. This vehicle will stop quickly but with anti-lock, the brakes will not lock the...
  19. Radio Starts On Completely Random Channel Every time I Start The Truck (2023 Lariat Hybrid)

'23 EB Lariat mine started doing this last week too. It started after the backup camera screen would not clear with the truck in drive. I pulled over turned the truck off and restarted. The backup camera seems to be working now but I get a random radio station after the truck is turned off...
