For months I have been excited about ordering a new Maverick. Reading the forums and deciding the details of "my build."
The excitement has waned and I feel like even if I go through the ridiculously antiquated hoops necessary to order one, I am not likely to actually possess it for a long time . . .
I think I will let it go and either look for something else or wait for the 2024 which will probably be the first redesign. I might actually get that 2024 in 2025 if we haven't all been killed by global warming/climate change.
Just order it now and you'll get in a year or so. Hell, you'll order a '23 and they'll convert you over to a '24 anyway.

Good strategy. Haven't thought about that. Order a 2023 in order to get a 2024. Sweet.

That’s kind of my point: these are ongoing issues that have been fairly consistently ongoing for a long time. There was nothing special about last week.
That right, it's been a continuous ongoing problem, and I'm sure Ford wants to know more than anyone how many Mavericks we're going to order this year. However, they also need to be certain that they can produce them and do so with the correct pricing and hopefully with any changes not making new problems for them to have to fix.
This all takes time, and I imagine some of this could have been done sooner, but here we are, waiting again, all we can hope is that when they open to orders again, they have done their homework and eliminated the problems they've had in the first year of production.

And that is my original point: the delay is not the issue. The puzzling part is Ford moving the date forward 2 weeks from Aug 15 to Aug 2. Nothing crazy happened, supply chain wise since that date shift.

Nobody is saying Ford seems to have some issues because of delays. People are saying Ford has some issues because they are making oddball date changes that are not caused by outside forces.

I know for a fact it is September according to Ford via many Ford Reps after Ford Corporate disclosed the information to them.
Seems like there’s a lot of confusion on Ford’s end.
This is live on Ford’s site under the Maverick section:

Ford Maverick đź—“ 2023 Maverick ordering now starts SEPTEMBER 15 (not August 2) 46D7BA16-522F-44D7-BC9F-26B737AD8AE2

Just got off the phone with fords maverick team and the nice lady on the phone said her email this morning said order bank isn’t opening til sept 15th. Anyone else hear this?
With the new corporate tax hikes coming Ford’s way who can blame them?

is that a sarcastic thumbs up?
Of course it is. I’m also no longer ordering one from them. Priority Ford in Norfolk, VA. Anyone who pays a $10-12k markup on a Maverick deserves that life lesson. The shithead dealerships shouldn’t be allowed to do it in the first place. Canadian dealers aren’t allowed to do this despite being a franchise.

But do we know what drove them to decide to move the date forwards then backwards, no. We don't know what concerns they're still addressing, so even to some degree blaming the supply chain itself may not be correct.

This is getting a bit tiring, this is NOT the way to demonstrate customer focus.

My point seems to be lost on you, so this will be my last attempt at it. Since we know that the supply chain disruptions have been pretty consistent without some extraordinary event occurring in the past week, we can deduce that whatever drove ford to move dates backward, then forward, the backward again was not external.

It is pretty easy to see that Ford has some internal communication problems. One needs to look no further than this page which current shows an order date in Aug.https://www.ford.com/trucks/maverick/
