Well said and I don't get it. My top level trim Lariat does not have it, but yet my wife's Bronco Sport Big Bend which is the entry level trim has it. Just shaking my head.
What were the price points on those two vehicles?..

My auto-dimming rear view mirror (Gentex-Auto-Dim-Mirror) has buttons built in to open the garage door. My truck did not come with any opener built in.
Ditto: fortunately it's an easy DIY and the first mod I did on my 2024 XLT.

My Maverick Lariat Hybrid was $38,730 I believe and the wife's Bronco Sport with the incentives we got I believe was around $29,000 something. I believe that is what you were asking for.

We're currently shopping for a new Hybrid SUV for my wife and have been looking at a few different options. Yesterday while researching the CRV Hybrid I learned that Honda is no longer offering Homelink in any of their new vehicles. Instead they are promoting that people use the MyQ app through Carplay or Android Auto.

I hate that idea for several reasons. First, it's just another function moved to the touchscreen which is distracting and takes extra steps just to use what should be an easy press of a button.
Also, I use one of the buttons on my Homelink for my Mother In Laws garage so when I go there to mow the lawn or do other work and she isn't home I can get into the garage. If I had a Honda I would have to ask her to share her MyQ password with me which would be silly.

When are manufacturers going to learn that their push to move everything to a touchscreen is distracting and counterintuitive? Even Ford adding climate controls for the touchscreen for 2025 Maverick's is super frustrating and it makes me have no interest in a 2025 model. My wife's 2022 Edge has touchscreen controls for everything and it's awful, awful, awful!! It's laggy and it's too distracting to have to look at the screen while driving to make any adjustments.

For the past 50 years I never had a vehicle that had a garage door opener. Go to your local hardware store and buy a new garage door opener, it is cheaper than the new vehicle.

Is it still true that on the 2025 maverick there is no integrated garage door opener.
I could not find anything in the owner manual or on the internet.
How do you open and close your doors.
I long lost the original opener.
Thank you.
The high-end Lariet doesn't even have an "Auto-Dim" mirror, let alone HomeLink.

And FWIW: Us really cool, old school Mav guys have been buying and installing KIA Homlink mirrors to solve the problem, but a friend recently bought a new $50K Hyundai (same company as KIA) SUV that has a Home link mirror but ISN'T Auto-dim. Holy f*****g cow!

I found a seller on Ebay that had a NOS (New Old Stock) Gentex-1124 up for sale and Bought for $ 40.00.
GNTX-1124 HFCHL4 Kia Part # A7062-Adup1

After research I figured out that Newer Homelink remotes (and Gentex Mirrors with Homelink) are backward compatible with older Garage door / Entrance Gates etc. (Homelink version 2 -3 etc.). If you purchase a new Garage Door motor etc. older Homelink versions will require you also purchase module to be able to link older homelink remotes to open / close the newer garage door motors.

The Mirror I purchased is a Version 4 Homelink (you can tell version by last 3 letters/number in part of the Gentex Model numbering system HFCHL4 as example in my Mirror HL4 means version 4). There is a Version out again backwards compatible

Version 5
Includes garage door up and down arrows, which work with newer openers that can transmit garage door status information to the mirror

One reason for the low cost mirrors we have seen new is clearance of old stock & old Homelink series.

Read other posts on Gentex mirrors. I used Bob's Mirrors for $40 and change. Easy to wire so it's only on when the vehicle is on (security purposes).

If you long lost the original opener you wouldn't be able to program your homelink anyhow.

Sounds like you're going to need to get out and use your keypad next to the door.
I use the app on my phone and it works great.
If I get a package during the day can open up the door remotely and my neighbor places it in my garage and I close it. Very secure and don’t have to worry about someone getting in my house via a remote in my car or maverick

Don't let that stand in the way. Like you, I require homelink - I'm not leaving a garage door opener on the visor forever. It's just a personal pet peeve thing for me.

There are two good mirror replacements that include Homelink. One is a Toyota part number that is a very nice looking frameless design and is battery powered, so there are no power wires to connect. It's a 5 minute install. About $150.

The other is the auto-dimming mirror used by OEMs Hyundai and Mazda among others that requires a power connection to be made at the headliner. Harder install, but you get the auto-dimming feature. About $60.

Both are well-documented on this forum.
The Bronco sun visor with homelink fits the 2025 Maverick. Pretty much a plug and play only a little tight on the right holder mount

I use the MyQ App on my phone or watch, technology has advanced so I don't want or need a physical remote or an integrated button in my vehicle

It looks nice, but if I'm going to hook electrical stuff up. I want a self-dimming mirror too. That's more important to me then a built-in garage door opener.
