Tell me about using your AGM battery

I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat Hybrid that I recently bought that has 15k on it. It has original motor craft battery. I have been getting battery saver mode when I don’t drive for a couple days. I just reset BSM and it went off. Just wondering if anybody replaced standard battery with agm and problems then resolved for good. Standard replacement battery vs agm. What are your experiences? Standard is garbage, period. Its not just FORD, our VW and Chevy both had shit batteries and we replaced everything with a Walmart AGM.

I started having problems with my original battery on my 2022.went in to sleep mode too much,didn’t want to crank in cold weather.put a new ford battery in at no charge and no problems since.

Went through two Motorcraft EFB batteries. Both are trash. Been running a $125 Weize AGM since December of last year and still no issues.

Replaced the 390 CCA Motorcraft POS battery with an AC Delco LN1 AGM. 2023 Hybrid Lariat lost dome and courtesy lights after the first few months during the winter. Didn’t want to risk a non start this coming winter and beyond. Replaced the battery in August. Voltages are so much more robust particularly at rest. The Hybrid is already set for AGM charging algorithm. Didn’t want to waste time with the dealership on the battery issue after seeing the huge struggles by others. Ford does not make an AGM for the Hybrid Mav.

I am having trouble finding the right agm battery , as size seems to be the problem....can you guys give me some exact battery maker and the battery numbers that will fit....delco , Walmart and others....when I put * 2023 hybrid maverick * in they keep saying * will not fit * ty

All the sites will say "will not fit" when it comes to searching for an AGM battery. Do this, measure the dimensions of your battery. Height, width and length. Look up an AGM battery that comes close to your measurements and order it. Don't put in your Ford Maverick as your car. I know, that won't be easy but if you can order your battery by the dimensions you will find one.

Worse that will happen is that it will be slightly wider, but you will still be able to fit it in with some modifications. If the AGM battery you find is the same width but slightly taller, it will fit. Mine did.

I also would advise that you remove the plastic surrounding the battery area before removing the old battery. It is soooo much easier to install it.

Hang in there, there will be a boat load of guys in here who will provide pictures, examples of AGM batteries they ordered, etc. A quick answer I can provide is yes, Walmart, Amazon, Napa, Autozone all have AGM batteries. The main thing you have to understand is their websites all list "flooded" batteries as a fit for a Maverick. It won't let you select AGM in their drop down menu's. That's why I suggested you measure your battery and find an AGM that is similar in size.
