I have a 24 XLT ECOBOOST I was wondering when to do oil change dealer says 5k but ford pass is saying like 10k I did my first one at 5k now I’m hitting 10k and my ford pass is saying I got a little over 5k to go and at 62% oil life looking for recommendations so I don’t blow my warranty. tia

Multiple discussions in this forum have said that 10k for the first one is okay also you should check the manual either the online version or the one in your glove box to be sure the dealer of course wants you to come in more often so do any of the oil change places that slap a come back in 3000 miles sticker on your windshield naturally it's your truck and you can do it sooner than ever 10k miles if you want it's really up to you but I would follow Ford's recommendations myself. hth

Read your manual or do what you're comfortable.

Depends on how you drive. At the 5,000 miles I do, I'm still going nine months between changes.

Either follow Ford's advice (not the dealer's service writer) and use the IOLM or make up any interval you like based on the advice of random people on the internet.

I don't think it's an opinion that the EB is not an extended oil change engine. 10k is way too much.

Most people chose around 3-7k for the EB. The medium is around 5k.

The issue is fuel dilution and it's very evident in the EB's.

Change around 3-5k for the first 3 while sending in an oil analysis to Blackstone at each one and go from there. Most averages tend to be around 5-7k.

Nobody is saying 10k is okay for the EB's. Hybrids, yes. But not the EB's.

5 K is about when I drop the oil and filter. However the first change was around 3K. So I have done 5 oil and filter changes in a little over a year. Did one today. Driving on sand is hard on an engine.

It depends on how long you plan to keep the vehicle. Theoretically the engine will last longer with a 5,000-mile oil change interval than 10,000.

If I were buying a used vehicle, I would be very leery of buying one that maxed out the oil change interval. I follow 5,000 miles or 1-year schedule whichever comes first.

Every 5k on Ecoboost Engine. Every 10k on Hybrid Engine. Use Full Synthetic Oil all the time with extended performance filters. I have had both engines in the past, and this formula has worked for me. Still have a 2014 Escape with 162k miles on it. Had a 2014 Transit Connect with 315k, and another 2016 Transit Connect with 267k on that one. Always following this method listed. Just my experience and opinion.
