Thank you. If I'm reading this correctly the
FRAM Ultra Synthetic XG10575 Motor Oil Filter, 20K mile Filter for GM, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury
Is the one that will fit maverick but be larger capacity.
Actually now I'm not sure

No- if you want the Fram Ultra in the size I showed above it will be model XG8A. My links might not have worked, but you should find it if you search by make/model like I mentioned.

Just did my second change at 9000.

First was 3000, early to potentially flush any break in contaminates.

Second was supposed to be at 8000 but it was really damn cold here in PA for the past month and I my weekends were busy.

Both with oem filter and super tech full synth.

Going to stick to 5000 intervals from here out, give or take. I'm in this boat now a days...

- I don't love crawling under my car but it's been a point of pain the in past when paying people to do it. It only takes one moron in 20 oil changes to justify the trouble of making sure it's done right. I've had oil plugs cross threaded, caps and dipsticks left off, wrong oil used, filters put on way too tight.
- Oil and trans fluid changes, done right, and on early intervals has gotten me 2 cars past 200k without major issues.

Since I'm in it for the long haul, I do need to upgrade my methods.
- threaded funnel will enter my toolbox now 😉
- the above reminded me I need a better oil pan. Larger capacity and better pour / cleanup.
- I am going to cut my skid plate to allow removal of the filter without removing the whole plate. I hate having to crawl under further and all the extra screws. It's just inefficient.
- Possibly going to add an easy drain plug too

Anyone have a good drain pan for less mess?

Hi everyone, I have the 2L ecoboost engine (2024 Lariat 4K and FX4)and went with the Michael Pro spill-free funnel made for Ford/Mazda and, man, the thread is a bit different on my oil cap and this doesnt really fit. Has anyone tried shimming something on this particular funnel to make it work? Seems like it could fit but I don't want to risk it ...otherwise this is going back to Bezos.

As I recall, mine was a little stiff the first time, but after that it has been fine. Maybe a burr or something, I didn't pay much attention since it's been ok after. I wouldn't add anything because it falling off/in would make me nervous. If you received the right one it should fit.

Well I ended up using my Dremel to make a little notch in the funnel. (I used a piece of paper to draw the outline of the cap and compare to the funnel)

Looks like my oil cap's notches are wider on one side so the cap screws always with the lettering facing the mechanic.

It now fits perfect!
