Owners of 22MY, 23MY, and 24MY Mavericks have all reported issues with deep sleep and even upon replacement batteries. So unless Ford has a mountainous stockpile of batteries produced from the same run that they've been pulling from it's hardly an isolated batch.
Some have Die Hard and Interstate batteries installed, replacing the Ford OEM batteries. Most of those who have done this are reporting little or no problems. I am wondering if Johnson Controls have different specs for the Ford batteries as opposed to Die Hard and Interstate batteries?

I can sit in the parked hybrid with the key out and hear a variety of clicks over a span of 20 minutes. Would like to know what this is all about. Have yet to find a reference in the manual.
Having drove a 2015 Prius for 7 years, hybrids will "click", "buzz" and "humm" up to 20 minutes after you park. You are not doing anything wrong, nor, is there anything wrong with your truck. This is what hybrids do. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks for pointing out that the clicking is a normal part of the Maverick hybrid. I’ve been reading the posts on this MTC i think for tw
It is the same specs as my Die Hard. You should be good to go. But the end result will be the AGM battery. For now, you shouldn't have any issues for quite some time.

In my case dealer claimed that Ford will not supply original Maverick battery replacement. This is some sort of a new special design Mexican battery that is nothing, but trouble.

I have solved my battery drain issue by going to the Ford Pass App on the Touchscreen and turning off connectivity . I turned off automatic updates , Wi-Fi and toggled off insurance data . I deleted my ford app on my phone . Now it’s not searching for my Wi-Fi signal parked in my garage . It’s not gathering info for my insurance company to use against me in court if I have an accident . It’s not refreshing to find a nearby ford dealer or my location if I want to navigate somewhere . I don’t need the fordpass app to tell my tire pressure or any other info , because all I have to do is look at the dash settings for that . All these things were draining my battery when the truck was off . Also no clicking noises now when it’s off . Try it if you are having the issue . Of course it could be a defective battery or the module that controls connectivity in the truck to the app . Ford may not have not told anyone this because they want to keep you connected to the app which is not necessary .
Yes, I thought of this too as my battery died after just 13 mos. Seems like a bad design. There’s a huge bank of batteries that drive the truck at low speeds. Why didn’t they connect it to the interior car battery as a fail safe?? Engineers?
Dealer doesn’t know the problem yet. I did disconnect Wi-Fi but didn’t delete the app. I like to get updates (except for the powering down msg to save battery life). :)
I’ve read other things like recall fixes or sensors that contribute to interior battery drain.
If anyone has anything else that may help, plse tell.
Thx, Mike, NS

I heard pulling fuse #11 underneath the floor of the passenger side will do all of the above. It's like turning off HAL 9000.........................

Disabling all of these options when it's not being driven for an extended period might help, but it also means you won't be able to locate it if it's stolen. The main point of this message is to let you know that the battery is in saver mode, probably because you're not driving the vehicle long enough during normal trips. Like many devices, the battery may go into sleep mode when not in use. If it sits unused for too long, it might pose a problem, but I think in most cases, it's just limiting the voltage usage and notifying you via the app. This would only be an issue if the vehicle doesn't start. Otherwise, it's a standard message that Ford could likely improve.

Thx Curtis, I do remember reading that somewhere. So long as pulling fuse 11 doesn’t turn off other things I may want. I will look into it.

Consider putting a third party, quality AGM battery in your hybrid. The Mav Hybrids are already configured for AGM yet Ford put a lead acid battery in the truck because they supposedly ran out of AGMs. Putting an AGM in will be a much better match to the charging algorithm set for the truck and according to the vast majority of MTC posts, this solves the deep sleep issues. A comparatively small out of pocket cost versus the dealership inconvenience, lost time, and not having your truck. The OEM lead acid Motorcraft battery used in the Mav is a POS.

Thx again, u sure seem to know about that battery. U should work at the dealer. They knew Jack s!?!
I also have never heard of an AGM battery before unless they’re fairly new. After looking it up, they did mention lifespan of about 7 yrs is common. Cheers.

Happy to help. AGM ( absorbent glass mat) batteries have been around since the 1980’s and were originally developed for military aircraft. They are virtually spillproof and leakproof and can even be mounted sideways. They are powerful and reliable. It’s not unusual to get up to 10 years of service from an AGM and some folks report using AGMs, stored and maintained, that were up to 15 years old. They charge faster than a lead acid battery and discharge much slower. The problem with the lead acid POS in Mav is the fact that it discharges faster than the truck can recharge it, leading to greater sulfation risk if SOC falls below 50%, and the battery setting at AGM is inconsistent with the battery type in the Mav. Save yourself a lot of trouble and consider/price an AGM. The AC Delco Gold LN1AGM is a drop in replacement for the OEM battery with a greater CCA than the OEM lead acid.

I don't think the AGM setting in the configuration necessarily means they were supposed to have one. As I've pointed out before Ford/Motorcraft doesn't even offer an AGM in that form factor. Plus switching didn't seem to affect voltage or charge amperage. There's also a few other stock values that don't quite jive with the OE equipment; for instance my tire size was default set for 235/65R17 even as a hybrid Lariat.

All I know is what I have experience. When I had a regular flood battery and got the dreaded "sleep" message and no dome lights, within 24 hours the battery completely died and I had to fully charge it.

With the AGM battery, I still get the "sleep" messages and no dome lights, but not as often and after I drive it for just a few minutes, I get back the dome lights and I am good to go for weeks (2 or more months).
