I was just wondering.
How many have done the "BSR" Battery Sensor Reset as outlined in the manual, after replacing their 12 volt battery?
Is "BSR" the same as "BMS" reset?
Necessary or not?

I have done the BMS reset. Ford states that this is required after every battery install. Apparently the computer needs to "learn" about the new battery...its capacity, state of charge, etc.

And how many do you really think look at their manuals, let alone read anything in it? After seeing so many posts questioning on how to do stuff, it is very apparent they don’t.

I've done the battery sensor reset and the BMS relearn process after each charge up.

Since the BMS section says that should take care of newly charged batteries too - perhaps I'll leave off the reset next time.

Maybe that nightly relearn uses more juice if the reset is done 1st.

That's a good question, I guess I finally need to put a charge on my battery. Took delivery on my '24 hybrid end of Nov '23. Never used or set up Ford Pass, pulled fuse 11, and do monitor from OBD port each time I enter after periods of non-use. This week was the first time I had no overhead lights upon entry and my volts showed only 11.1 after sitting 5 days. Did start right up. It now has about 3900 miles. I plan to charge it with my 2 amp smart charger and lock it up for eight hours minimum when completed. Should I do a BMS (BSR?) reset too?

Now that I went thru those instructions again, and never got a benefit after a recharge and doing a reset for the SOC to read correct, I'm just letting it do the relearn process.
