CrossRoads Ford dealers in North Carolina doing same. Will not be doing business with them. Surprisingly found a few Mavericks for sale at smaller dealership and their selling at msrp. Their getting my business.

I thought this price listing was a bit overkill but that's just me thinking about the price. What do you guys think?
Insane. I was testing an XLT demo with the FX4 package, and towing package and the sticker said 28K and change. I sat down with the dealer to see how much my trade would be worth and what not and I could have put the order in right then and there for the same price. I am probably going to go back Monday and put in my order.

I've bought many cars from Cavalier over the years (at least six). I ordered my Maverick Hybrid XLT from there - X-plan , no problem... Very easy folks to work with, most recent was my 2019 Shelby GT350 @ Invoice and my wife's '21 Explorer ST via X-plan. in and out in about 3hrs.

In the case of the GT350 it had a 10K markup on it. I simply told them I'd purchase @ Invoice, "think about it, you know my number, give me a call if you want to sell..." Low and behold they eventually agreed.

It's all about supply and demand, I can't blame them for asking, it doesn't mean I have to buy it either... You're always free to make a counter-offer. Prices will moderate once the initial thrill/newness fades...Bottom line, the Market speaks!

i work at a dealer and when it comes to markups, we decided NOT to place any on Mavericks. How it works normally (I don’t know if this is just us but this is how we do it) but we will honor MSRP for the Bronco with an order being picked up by the customer who ordered it, but if that Bronco is NOT picked up by the person who ordered it, that’s when the mark-up takes place. Like I said this is not being done On the Maverick Where we are.

The past 11 years I have bought from Riverside Ford in Macon GA. Same salesperson, always felt like I was treated fairly. Always paid cash. we bought a used 08 GT500, 14 Mustang , 17 Mustang, 17 Fusion, 20 F150. My salesman passed away this year so we decided to try the dealership closer to home since we moved further away from Riverside Ford.

I ordered the Maverick from Phil Brannen Ford of Perry GA. I signed a buyers order for the total delivered price. I would not have done any better anywhere else.

$23,750 MSRP XL, bedliner, moonroof, floor mats, copilot 360, rear window, trailer hitch, tailgate lock.
$1,620.23 GA TVAT
$78 GA tag fee
$799 Doc Fee
$26,247.23 OTD

lol....not sure how you pulled off a 350 at invoice, that's a first that I'm aware of. Good for you! I tried to find a big brother 500 at MSRP, and never even got close. Couple dealers said they would, but started adding "other" ridiculous fees.

Fact, suckers are born daily, others have plenty of money, and a seller can always come down in price, but it's really hard to come up! How many on here would tell a dealer the actual lowest price they will take on a trade in? Then they will also pay sticker. Willing buyer meets willing seller!

I was reading Ford dealers in Hawaii are buying at or near MSRP Mavericks and selling them for at least $10k over. So not only are customers buying the good deals but so are dealers. Imagine being a “good dealer” and being stuck with no stock. You would still have unhappy customers while Hawaii Ford dealers just made 10k each on your trucks.

Some of the members of MTC talked about reselling for more than they pay. I know many people who have sold their used vehicles for more than they paid 2-3 years ago. So we can all do it and we’re ecstatic to get the money but a dealer can’t?

If someone wants to pay MSRP they can hunt down a dealer who has one.

If someone needs a vehicle “NOW” they can pay over MSRP, find a dealer that will do MSRP, or make a sacrifice on what they want.

Its different story for us who ordered a Maverick and are waiting for it at an agreed upon price. If they add any markups when it comes in I will be out for blood.

This may be one of the most opportunistic periods car dealers have ever seen. Temptation must be running high. My dealer (who is 75 miles away) has always been very courteous, and was very cooperative in accepting my offer of $500 over invoice OTD with no other add-ons. I’m even doing my own TTL after taking possession. That said, getting any actual information out of them has been like pulling teeth. I have never heard anything from Ford, and, long-story-short - all I really have ever gotten from the dealer was insistence that my order HAS been placed. Any paperwork I have been able to squeeze out of them has been hard-to -read copies of copies. I was eventually able to get a copy of the buyers order emailed to me. It was completely illegible, and obviously not signed by either of us (this deal was largely done via phone). I do believe that dealers have a way of submitting to the ROVP system with deals that are not made in person - because it appears I AM in the system. But after two months without ANY comms from FoMoCo i’ve had to realize - What would happen if i got so tired of waiting in this crazy unresponsive system, that I pulled the plug and asked for the return of my deposit? WOW! When the vehicle does finally arrive, they now have a fully loaded Lariat model to sell to someone else for MUCH more than they were gonna get from me! The tactic of SILENCE about my order could work out very well for this dealer. If i had not constantly hounded them for any info I could get, I feel certain there would have been ZERO communication with me, as I wait out here in never-never land for this ghostly vehicle. This suggestion may well be unfounded and unwarranted, but at times it does make me wonder if i’m a victim of a very quiet, but effective system of discouragement that in the end provides a tasty opportunity for dealer profit. There's more than one way to skin a cat!
