I thought this price listing was a bit overkill but that's just me thinking about the price. What do you guys think?
Yes. $42k for an XLT?!? Yeah, that’s a bit steep.

Yes, I believe in the free market, and yes, I believe dealers can ask whatever price they want. However, these supply chain issues and new vehicle shortages are a temporary event. For many dealers who spend money and effort to show how caring and supportive they are for their communities, it sure looks to me like they damage their image big time to me. Some of the items mentioned above include grocery and other items which may have had price increases along the way, with retailers having to pay more, and subsequently passing the cost on to the consumer. In these cases of Ford dealers adding $8K, $10 and even the example of $15K above MSRP, unfortunately we know they paid the same invoice price, so all that extra markup is just pure extra profit.

Yes, I believe in the free market, and dealers can charge whatever they want, but as customers we can choose not to do business with them. If my local dealer was marking up to shameful levels over MSRP, when things settle back down to "normal," I will remember and will choose to do business with the other dealer down the street.
Of course you will remember. But somewhere is a rube who is out an extra $7500 driving a nice new truck. Who am I to judge?

I would never pay such a high price. The way to stop such prices is to not buy a Maverick at all.
Agree and I would have no problem refraining from buying one. One of the most appealing things about the Maverick is the price. When the price gets jacked up by $7,500 that appeal disappears.

If some buyer is willing to pay these prices...why should i care. It's not like overpriced water or plywood during a hurricane.
That is true. You don't have an inherent "need" for a new vehicle. And if if you can make that jump, you don't need "this specific vehicle" that is harder to get for being new etc.
Basics of supply and demand.

Difference being that the vast majority don't NEED a Maverick. We do need food and other essentials.
Which is why this isn't price gouging. It is simply supply and demand. If someone wants to pay that it is their choice. In the case of TP they may not have any choice.

The money they are making alone off not having to offer incentives, then add the mark ups. Then have the balls to still charge the bs doc and admin fees.

Agreed that's just not worth it. I know my local dealership will be marking it up and I may just have to walk away from getting mine. Contemplating what i would pay for a maverick - 5k over? idk..
