I would think so. Ford put a hold on the recall (so dealers weren't supposed to do it) in mid/late March. On the March 22nd there was another message saying that the issue had been resolved. I haven't seen/heard of anyone who had the recall/updated after March 22nd who has had this issue, so I would consider it safe by now.

I had my recall done in mid January. No problems. I haven't heard of anyone that early having issues either, so I think the issue is limited to recalls performed Feb through mid-March. If I hadn't had my recall already done, I would feel ok about having it done now.

I read through the hotline reports myself and the FSEs (Field Service Engineer) recommended updating those modules to solve problems that arose after the recalls were done. Based on those reports, it looks like the updated updates solved the problems people were having.
Thank you again!

I have been watching this forum since I ordered my 2024 xlt hybrid for 8 months. It appears the 2022 models were rushed out the door without sufficient software testing. Further, software recalls do not seem to fix any of the issues and in some cases make the problems worse. My 2024 now has 1200 miles on it, a blend of highway and city driving; no issues and after two tanks of premium fuel I am getting 44+ MPG. I will not do any of the software recalls and frankly will not be taking it to any ford dealership. I added the six year extended warranty, which the small town ford dealer I bought from heavily discounted. I feel by 2024 most of the bugs with the hybrid were fixed (hope so) and I advise any of you that passed on an extended warranty to get one while you still can. As an aside, I read a recent article that said the longest in service New York City taxicabs were Escape hybrids (can't remember where I saw this) which gives me hope the powertrain is reliable. To all you 22/23 hybrid owners perhaps some genius will sort out the glitches otherwise it appears a class action lawsuit is forthcoming.
I hope you are right. However, many of the '22 problems are showing up two years later. We may see the same thing with 24's in 2026. Window for ordering hybrids closed the day before I wanted to order a hybrid. Had to 'settle' for an EB. (y) ;) Buying the warranty was probably a good idea, especially with a small town dealer who may respond!!!!

I've said many times, my 2022 was outstanding for the first 22,000 or so miles. Never a glitch, worry free, except for maybe the sunglass holder latch, no showstoppers.
I might have considered an extended warranty, but the dealerships and Ford were not able to resolve my Maverick's big issues. Ford was reluctant to acknowledge the hybrid's harness issue for a LONG time. I had to resort to using a Noco and keeping a fabricated jumper cable around consisting of alligator clips and wire.

Using the rational that if they couldn't fix it during the bumper-to-bumper period, why throw good money after bad?

That said, the styling, utility, and generous interior storage was great, I would most likely still be in the Maverick had I purchased an Ecoboost.

for what model years?
The memo I received today states 21-24 Bronco Sport and 22-23 Maverick loss of motive power. Ford is planning to provide dealers an official notification and instructions during the week of May 13, 2024.

Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 866-436-7332.

Thank you Kevin for being on the MTC! I am due for an Oil change and tire rotation. I have been watching this issue. I put off the oil change until they get a handle on this. Do you think it is safe to have the recalls done during my oil change?
You don't have to have the oil change done at Ford dealer. I will not take my Maverick to Ford dealer for routine maintenance and recalls until this issue is resolved.

Probably not targeted at the Hybrid then, if it also affects Bronco. More likely an Ecoboost recall which still leaves all these Hybrid owners to play the "when will my rig die and maybe take me with it" game.

You see these fancy high dollar washer / dryers, dishwashers , some just don’t last long as has elec control issues. I’ve seen 1000$ + washers that can’t be fixed a few year old, yes refrigerators too, just to many sensors , control panel issues, that can’t be correctly diagnosed , like throw them away and buy new

Why you putting premium in a hybrid?

Sounds like that would be for the Ecoboost. You should do a Tuesday video talking about this hybrid issue and what Ford plans on doing.
