  1. 2024 XLT - Cluster Lens Etched

I don't read the later reply to the reply to the reply that contains information that should have been stated up front in the OP which could also have been (and still could be) edited to add it after the fact. I read the part where you keep asking dumb questions. There is no reason to be...
  2. 2024 XLT - Cluster Lens Etched

When did water ever let you down? Why are you determined to use chemical concoctions? Plexus and similar are used on items that will be subject to having bugs smashed against them, like aircraft and motorcycle windscreens - so they will be easier to clean. I am not sure what you are trying to...
  3. Running hybrid for hours as a power source, is it harmful to the engine?

The worlds most expensive and complex 400w generator. Terrific idea :ROFLMAO: If you time the purchase of these right, you can grab one of them near $250. Same ones they sell at Costco for near $1k. Awesome generator, I love mine. Run it on propane (same stuff you use in your BBQ) and you...
  4. Service department says my 4K equipped Ecoboost can’t tow 3200 GVW trailer.

If you are overloading a turbo-4 with a tow, it is not a matter of if it is only a matter of when you'll be looking for a tow of your own. J2807 says it must be able to do it.... ONCE. With a 150lb driver and 150lb passenger. J2807 says nothing about the longevity of the engine or trans. Like...
  5. Service department says my 4K equipped Ecoboost can’t tow 3200 GVW trailer.

The actual Ford towing document literally says otherwise. The rating is the max under ideal conditions, not brutal conditions.
  6. Service department says my 4K equipped Ecoboost can’t tow 3200 GVW trailer.

Frontal area is the combination of the surface area of the truck and the trailer. However Ford has already done the math for the truck (which is why this is a vehicle specific document) and thus given you a simple trailer frontal area to consider - so all you need to do is calculate the frontal...
  7. Dealer wants to totally replace the transmission

Yes interesting bump. Anyone who has a trans go dead at 10,000 miles should start a new thread. A problem like that deserves a new thread.
  8. Modifications and Transmission Failure out of no where

As someone who has spent the past 20 years employed by over 300 lawyers who all rank among the best lawyers in their respective practice areas, and as someone who has had a front row seat to countless civil matters from small to astronomically large litigated from optimistic beginnings to the...
  9. Bucking while slowing down. Anybody else?

This does not sound like a CV axle problem to me. Sounds like a transmission / regen related issue
  10. 2023 Hybrid Noise

It sounds like it changes with vehicle speed, rock between the rotor and dust shield is a possibility as already noted. Whatever it is, it sounds like it is coming from a drivetrain rotating assembly not a fan
  11. 2023 Ford Maverick hybrid shaking when accelerating

If it breaks, yes it is a safety issue. The vehicle could lose motive power or could also roll while in park. But until we (and the government) hear of them breaking like that, NHTSA is not going to step in because of vibration.
  12. 2023 Ford Maverick hybrid shaking when accelerating

If it is a not a safety issue, NHTSA doesn't care and won't push a manufacturer to fix it. They are not the ministry of customer satisfaction.
  13. 23N06 Customer Satisfaction Program (Hybrid Maverick) - engine long block replacement coverage for 10/100k miles (for DTC P1061 and/or P032F)

It has nothing to do with gasoline, premature detonation etc. The description for the knock sensor error code is Excessive Engine Component Deterioration. i.e., a rod or crank bearing has failed
  14. C'mon Ford!! Another Bad CV Axle in Less Than 60K!!

Technically this only applies to parts paid for by the customer. If they were replaced under the vehicle warranty by Ford, then they are not covered. The warranty for parts that were replaced under the vehicle warranty expires when the vehicle warranty expires...
  15. 2 months 2,500 miles and it's dead

So it's safe to say it wasn't the starter. If it was that simple you wouldn't be dumping the truck, amiright?
  16. 2022 Maverick 2.5 HEV Exhaust Gas Cooler leak

Yes I agree with that as well - it is a hybrid unique part and clearly a critical component of the hybrid system
  17. 2022 Maverick 2.5 HEV Exhaust Gas Cooler leak

Bottom line, it is a known defect and Ford needs to make it right. It should be covered under the emissions warranty - because if the HEV battery is not kept at optimum temperature (by the heat exchanger) then there is no way for the vehicle to achieve the rated MPG and that means more...
  18. 2022 Maverick 2.5 HEV Exhaust Gas Cooler leak

If the heat exchanger is not related to the emissions system, then ask the dealer why Ford is sending out these letters in Canada:
