105 in Utah is a speeding ticket.

106 is reckless driving. That is a misdemeanor, not a felony.
My bad- We had a guy at work clocked at 140MPH and they charged him with a B-Felony- Unsure of how things go from 106- reckless to 140 - felony, Maybe he talked some mess to the officer dunno -lol

Disclaimer: I don’t live in Utah.

From what I’m reading online about Utah legal code, it wasn’t the speed that got him a felony. He had to be doing something else and he got charged with multiple ā€œenhancementsā€: DUI, fleeing a police officer, road rage, hit and run, causing serious injury or death, street racing, resisting arrest, etc.

Felonies are no joke. Minimum sentence is a year in prison, lose your right to vote, lose your right to own firearms, lose security clearances, lose professional licenses, such as doctors and lawyers, and even lose the chance for employment at a lot of big companies that provide good paying jobs.
