Yep. I am thinking when I get solar panels I will get bifacial ones put them vertical on my N to S ridge with 1/3 of front face towards east and 2/3 of front face west as I will need more electrons in pm hours. Metal roof will take care of high noon problem. Plus biggie advantage vertical placement will let help reduce heat buildup during day and reduce dust build up.Well that makes sense since it sets in the west and rises in the east lol.
For us up north it's a strange. Where I'm at we get 7-8 hours of daylight in winter and nearly 16 hours during summer. The difference between our longest/shortest day is over 7 ours where yours is 3 hours.
For perspective, today that puts the sun at 36 degrees altitude at its peak for us and 51 degrees for you. So southern states experience a higher and longer on average sunlight which seems to almost be a straight up and down motion, vs. ours that sort of drags horizontally across a bottom portion through the sky year round.
