Had both 24C01 and 23C41 recalls done at the same time. Now, when you unbuckle the seat belt when the vehicle is on, you lose the ability to use the instrument cluster menus until you either open the door and/or re-buckle your seatbelt.

So let's say you just parked and wanted to check your mileage or tire pressure, you must either open the door or re-buckle. It's annoying.

Also - I'm not sure if it has been disabled or if it just doesn't illuminate anymore, but the Grade Assist light/indicator no longer illuminates when coasting down hills.

Or if you drop your kids off at school and they unbuckle and get out.

I've had this happen and it is annoying. But I've only had one situation in the eight months I've owned mine where this annoyance presented itself. Even when the kids get out at school, once they leave the vehicle it just turns into the green notice you can dismiss.

Ford Maverick Post recall annoyance (24C01) PXL_20240308_152415601

I also noticed this change after the recalls, too. At least was able to disable the damned chime for the driver's seatbelt again after the recalls, but this new nag box won't go away, and eventually returns after hitting OK. I only drive w/o my seatbelt when going from my house down & up a long gravel private road to the mailbox.

I suspect Ford added this additional annoyance to increase their NHTSA seatbelt/safety ratings for the Maverick.

All the nanny-ism annoyances on this vehicle spoil what would be an otherwise great vehicle user experience.

Can you share how you disabled the seatbelt chime? I always put mine on, except after I stop for the mail. TIA

Stopping for the mail is the reason I wanted this disabled, too. The instructions are in the printed user manual. You can look it up there or download the .pdf and search for seat belt chime. Or search for the same on this forum. Tons of threads on it.

The procedure doesn't always work the first time and repeating it will eventually result in success.

I looked it up in the FordPass app and it's slightly different from what's been posted here, should work with the instructions as written. Looking forward to the quiet!

Hello everyone!

I finally found the way to disable the ANNOYING Seatbelt information screen that comes on when you start the truck and stays on even after you buckle your seatbelt. Thank you to 2023 F250 forums for the coding information.

DISABLE SEATBELT INFORMATION SCREEN
1. Open IPC AS BUILT
2. Change line 720-13-01 and 720-13-02 to ALL ZEROS. And WRITE the changes. Click yes to let Forscan correct the checksum.
3. Change line 720-14-01 and 720-14-02 to ALL ZEROS. And WRITE the changes. Click yes to let Forscan correct the checksum.

These coding changes worked for my 2024 Maverick XL AWD ECOBOOST. These changes remove the seatbelt screen entirely and also seemed to disable the seatbelt chime all together. I would love to hear from other members to see if these changes work in your Maverick! Also, I have the smaller instrument cluster. (The 4 inch Instrument Cluster)

EDIT:
If you would like to keep the Minder (the dash light and chime) and not the Monitor (the seatbelt screen) I would suggest doing the following coding based on this diagram and my original coding in my Maverick.

720-13-01 9100 0001 8000
720-13-02 0110 1000
720-14-01 1000 0000 0000
720-14-02 All Zeros

Confirmed working on a 2024 XL Hybrid with Copilot 360.

Seems like just 720-13-01 and 720-13-02 to ALL ZEROS was all I needed, not sure what
720-14-01 and 720-14-02 to ALL ZEROS is for.

Any ideas?

My 720-14-02 was already ALL ZEROS from the factory and yours probably was too. My 720-14-01 was ALL ZEROS except for the first digit which was a 2. In the picture below you can see why I changed this line of coding too! The last two numbers of each line of code are just checksums. Glad it’s working! Thanks.

Works on a 24 XLT w/copilot 360 as well. Sweet!
