Recall: Instrument Panel Cluster IPC illumination Campaign #24C01

It appears that Ford is recalling some instrument clusters regarding the illumination issue that has be noted here by a number of forum users in the past. I cannot find any documentation beyond the recall by VIN page at this time, so I do not know the range of this recall in terms of dates and model years.

Description

The instrument panel cluster ipc may not properly illuminate telltales or gauges, regulated by certain fmvss requirements.

Safety Risk

Failure to illuminate the cluster display would render safety-related telltales and gauges unreadable in certain conditions. An ipc that does not clearly display critical safety information can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to update the instrument panel cluster software free of charge parts and labor.
