If they took your money you have some standing, I would think. Take that $500 and pay a lawyer for an hour or two. Maybe you can threaten to subpoena their phone records or emails to see if they really tried to contact you.

I agree that they need to be lit up and i so appreciate all the helpful info on here today. I will certainly let everyone know what transpires over the next few days.Man, what a bummer. I would be sitting there NOW demanding my deposit money back and not leave without it and not take "we will put the check in the mail." They had use of your money all this time, unless they just kept the check and did not cash it. Let the GM know what a scummy way to do business. Chances are they got a few K above msrp to someone else. Once you have your money, then the entire forum needs to light them up big time.
No one ever contacted me by phone or email. No contact at allI have a document titled a custom retail order agreement from them. It states you have 3 days to complete the purchase of the vehicle after you've been contacted that it arrives. It specifically said who would contact me. If you don't purchase after those 3 days post-contact are up, they can then sell it.
I'd say take that down there and speak to management in person. If they can't prove that signed person contacted you...I'd think they have no leg to stand on.
@KevCuRaoi, how do you know how many miles it has on it?I'm sorry, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But it looks like it was sold to someone else a month ago. The warranty start date shows as 21-July-2023. It has over 400 miles on it now. It was sold by Long-Lewis of Hoover.
We know he is one of the few here who have access to the secret Ford Computer...seriously.@KevCuRaoi, how do you know how many miles it has on it?
It was sold out from under me without any contact from Long LewisI looked around for a bit before deciding on placing my 24 order with them. A little concerning you're having this issue. They have a good track record. Hopefully you still get your truck.
If it is any consolation, you are not the first to have this happen to them. I had never dealt with my dealer before, so I dogged them every step of the way. Turns out they were one of the good ones, but taking 491 days to get my order, I wasn't going to take any chances. It was sold out from under me without any contact from Long Lewis
Whatever you do when you're at the dealer Don't loose your cool, You'll want to go Mike Tyson on someone, but don't. Take a deep breath and out think them, make them feel so guilty.Well, i at least have the paperwork and proof of the order. I have all the emails from Ford updating me on the progress and build date and ship date, then nothing from the dealer once it was delivered. Ive called there and talked to people in sales that said they would look it up and get back with me, but no dice....crickets....
It has already been marked as sold and has an active warranty. No point in jumping to conclusions. Still may be in transit.
IIRC an ordered vehicle will still show as 'for sale' as an automatic listing on the major car retail sites.
Keep your cool jeff'e.
When a dealership tells you that they will look in to it and call you back that is a red flag. It's probably long gone and they need to come up with an excuse to give you.I ordered my 2.0L Maverick fx4 the week they opened the orders last year. Ford notified me when it was built and shipped. The last i heard about this vehicle was when it shipped 06/29/23. I have not heard a thing from Long Lewis Ford in Hoover Alabama since. I have called to get info 3 times and still have no answers. I put $500 down to place the order. Crickets from the dealership.
exactly what I was thinking - go down there and discuss this with the salesperson and the general manager and bring all documentation and your cell phone if that's how they were going to contact you. When they tell you some bull or other excuse go on a somewhat subdued tirade and ask them what they are going to do for you, and if it's not up to what you expect then you tell them what they are going to do for you. It should (should...) be relatively easy to put in another order and have the dealer give you the highest priority on this and they should eat the price difference. When a dealership tells you that they will look in to it and call you back that is a red flag. I would go to the dealership and talk to the sales manager directly. Just say you got the emails saying the Maverick was built and shipped and ask them to look up the status.
Let's see what excuse they make.
The order banks are still open for 2024 so get them to order you another one at high priority and sell it to you for the same price as the 2023.
