Was my Maverick sold out from under me despite my order?

I ordered my 2.0L Maverick fx4 the week they opened the orders last year. Ford notified me when it was built and shipped. The last i heard about this vehicle was when it shipped 06/29/23. I have not heard a thing from Long Lewis Ford in Hoover Alabama since. I have called to get info 3 times and still have no answers. I put $500 down to place the order. Crickets from the dealership.

You need to contact Ford via the chat.

Give them your order, VIN, sales code, etc and ask them where your vehicle is. They should be able to tell you if it was sold or not. You can also private message me your VIN and I can look to see if it was registered.

I looked around for a bit before deciding on placing my 24 order with them. A little concerning you're having this issue. They have a good track record. Hopefully you still get your truck.

I bet they sold it out from under me. I was never contacted on delivery to the dealership. What recourse would i have against them if they did? I put $500 down when i ordered it

I have a document titled a custom retail order agreement from them. It states you have 3 days to complete the purchase of the vehicle after you've been contacted that it arrives. It specifically said who would contact me. If you don't purchase after those 3 days post-contact are up, they can then sell it.

I'd say take that down there and speak to management in person. If they can't prove that signed person contacted you...I'd think they have no leg to stand on.

Unfortunately says it was sold on or around July 22nd. Your dealer is a scumbag. By the way, unfortunately you have no recourse, a purchase and sales agreement does not constitute a contract nor would it hold up in court. Almost all of them have legal verbiage anyway allowing them to do what they want with the vehicle. This isn't a Ford thing, this is your dealer just being dishonest. The way the system works is that the dealership buys the vehicle from Ford and then sells it to you so since they technically own the vehicle they can do what they want with it. You should at the very least be able to get your deposit back and then members of this forum can put the dealer on blast if they don't make arrangements to take care of you somehow and get you a replacement.

I'm sorry, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But it looks like it was sold to someone else a month ago. The warranty start date shows as 21-July-2023. It has over 400 miles on it now. It was sold by Long-Lewis of Hoover.
