So many variations (wind/speed/hills/load) for a poll like this, but that said I typically get about 35-36 when doing 75-80 on mostly flat highways here in FL.
Normally I'm a DIY'er, too, and like to save money, but I think this is the kind of thing where it's money well spent to have a pro do it right. I'd beat myself up everytime I looked at the truck if I ended up doing a lousy job myself.
My dealer was genuinely great, especially when compared to some of the horror stories I've read about here. He was honest from the get-go that it could be 6-weeks, 6-months, or even more from order to delivery, he called or emailed whenever he had an update, he didn't play games with "extras"...
I could see this as a $25K base vehicle, with all kinds of add-on options to kit it out the way you want it. Booming stereo? Add the audio kit. Want a nicer interior? Add the premium seat kit. Truck rack for kayaks? There's a kit. Upgraded lighting? Add 'em on. Graphics kits. Wheel kits. Safari...
I can't wait for the threads once Ford releases this update with a larger screen but HVAC controls in that screen. Ya'll won't know what to do -- be happy or be pissed. As Dad always said, be careful what you wish for...
These are the stock speakers. As you can see they’re very simple and laughably light — barely any magnet there at all.
regarding scratching concerns: I used a clean painters tool to gently pry off the window switch panels from the doors. I did this along the long edge that runs parallel with...
I always thought the stock XLT speakers were decent enough, but I have a long road trip coming up so I decided to give the speakers an upgrade. Very impressed with these. Very reasonable price and it only took about an hour to install all 4 speakers (2 in doors, 2 tweeters in dash). No cutting...
I don't think you're far off "normal" real-world use. I've got about 12K on mine and the lifetime MPG is about 38.5. That's a mix of very short local trips, moderate all-day running around locally (errands), a dozen or so 45-mile highway trips to the airport, and two 2,000K+ mile trips. Usually...
Saw this on another forum. Just thought it was a pretty sweet looking old model. I also think it would be cool if Ford resurrected the name "Grabber" for a special edition Maverick truck, but I'm guessing the word has negative connotations these days.
Another little feature desired, another $100 to the MSRP... there's a reason Mavericks are way below the average price of a new car. Just some perspective.
I agree, used to be you'd know it was empty when stuff stopped coming out of it! Of course, those were the days when you checked the tire pressures and popped the hood to check the coolant and oil before you took a 3 hour trip. Times sure have changed but you can see why vehicle costs have gone...
