What don't you like about your Maverick?

I have had my Hybrid for about 3 months, only about 1500 miles. I like it a lot overall. My two small complaints are the gas pedal is too high off the floor, my foot slips off occasionally. And I am not a fan of the rotary shifter. I guess I am too old for that kind of change.

1) Brakes don't engage "smoothly" on the hybrid if you are going less than 5 mph. It is a known issue by Ford and they won't address it.
2) The paint is abysmall, have 4 chips

My Ecoboost is expected to arrive any day now. While I twiddle my thumbs waiting for the call, tell me what you don't like about the Maverick so I can taper my expectations.

So far, I've heard of:

• Bad speaker/sound system.
• Noisy interior cabin
• Easily scratched interior

I must agree with the sound system. Previously I had a 2019 Edge Titanium with the B/O system, and it was exceptional. Not sure where Ford skimped on the Maverick, but the B/O sound system it has does not even compare.
It is just annoying to have to put the drive in Eco constantly. Would have been nice if it was a remember the last setting rather than reset to normal. Imagine having to put it back into tow mode every time a stop is made for example.
With the soft tonneau cover in place, the design of the rear window allows a lot of trash to accumulate between the cover and the window, and even under the window. That gap under and behind the rear window should have been filled with foam or some such means.
Is there a way to shut off that annoying alarm when you back up with the tail gate down?

My average driving is pretty much the same, haven't even done much highway driving in five month, maybe ten miles the longest. During most of the short trips, the engine doesn't even warm up fully and that's the main reason for the in the high teens MPG. That's OK by me, the MPG is close to doubled when compared to my old F150, the main reason for buying the Maverick. Yes, transmission sucks at low speed, when stopping it also keeps pushing forward gently at times. Sometimes it feels like that the truck says, "Oh, come on now, let me go..."

At $20+K, it is a cheap truck and that's kind of OK, but my Lariat was $36K. At that price range, I expected more, like dimming rear and side-view mirrors, driver power seat with memory adjustment for two drivers, gas charged shocks/struts, better seats, etc. My old F150 got gas charged shock, when it needed new shocks and had a better ride than the Maverick.

Unless Ford change the Maverick, adding some or all the items above, my next truck will not be a Maverick. With all of the small trucks coming to the market during the next couple year, I might just switch over to a different brand in similar price range...

If you want to improve the sound, from the standard system, set it for driver only. This setting makes a significant difference! Rock on!

It is easier to complete a survey online nowadays and just like with any other merchandise, people with issues with the item are more likely to complete the survey. Just put it in perspective...

As of June 1st, vehicle manufacturer sold 3,290,595 and 93,380 people completed the survey; that's 2.84% of the new car owners. Did this percentage increased/decreased comparing to previous years? I don't know, but would trust the percentage more than arbitrarily assigned number scoring system.

I have the Lariat Lux with the BO sound system and I love it, no complaints at all but I never turn it up above 9. I love to drive my Maverick and everything about it. The only negative is the cheap plastic on the door that scratches so easily. The problem is the color is on the surface only and not very deep, so it doesn't take much to scratch it and white show, especially with the texture Ford applied to it. If I place my arm on the window frame it leaves a white smudge. I bought the 303 as recommended and it works for a while, but I have to apply it every 2 weeks to keep it looking good.

I have had my Maverick XLT for 16 months. I like everything about it, especially for the money, but one thing....I HATE the engine cutoff. I know, all you have to do is push the button, but I still hate it! As soon as the warranty runs out, I'm buying the kit that disables it

No, it's a specific setting. I'll try to find it this evening. I only set it once and am not turning it back, since it works nicely.

I don't understand why people keep saying low mount rear view mirror!! It's the in same place as every car I've ever owned. And how do people not know the mirror doesn't only move left and right, but up & down depending on your height and seat position. What do they usually drive? I love everything about my Maverick. The stereo I usually have volume on 5 or 6 for my comfort. I have turned it higher to test if it gets tinny but it doesn't. I have not found it to be noisy on the interior, quite the opposite. Mileage is great on my hybrid, handles well, great pick up to pass. Have had it over 100mph with no rattles or shaking. Best vehicle I've ever owned and I've had a lot of different brands & models.

The only real complaint I have is the push button start location. It should be steering wheel height like the Escapes. It's poorly lit too and looks like everything else in that area.

I waited 15 pages into this thread to find something I genuinely dislike, and that's been it from day 1. Anything else is subjective or nitpicking and nothing new across any vehicle. There is always something.

But that location is just awful.
