Forgot one, I don't like the cubbies, any of them really. Especially the ones next to and above the infotainment. Useless.

Having to change it to Eco or whatever you want if you don't want normal driving mode. Having to hit OK for the seat belt and the ready to drive screen at every startup.
Trivial I know but still annoying.

my very minor complaints:

The seatbelt warning thing that pops up for the first 30 sec or so. I don't need to be reminded; everyone in my household buckles up every time anyway.

At first I thought the radio screen was too dim, but I've gotten used to it and don't notice it being a problem anymore.

The paint seems soft -- I have a few little chips already.

But overall, I love the damn thing.

The deeply recessed windshield wipers accumulate leaves like crazy and they don't blow out completely with a hose. Thankfully I have an electric leaf blower to occasionally blast them out.

My Ecoboost is expected to arrive any day now. While I twiddle my thumbs waiting for the call, tell me what you don't like about the Maverick so I can taper my expectations.

So far, I've heard of:
  • Bad speaker/sound system.
  • Noisy interior cabin
  • Easily scratched interior
My 22 Ecoboost FX4, that I have 7500 miles on and have owned since Feb. 2022--
-Easily scratch able interior panels, no matter how hard I try to be careful.
-No Sirius radio option except on Lariat.
-Double pull hood latch.
-Center console cavity to the abyss. (corrected with aftermarket console tray insert)
-Lack of option at time of ordering to delete the stop start engine function.
Everything else about the truck for the price is fine.

My Honey keeps borrowing the freakin' thing!

I agree with several of the listed comments, but still love it...

I like my sound system a lot . No scratches on the interior yet.
The seats on my XLT were very comfortable while the seats on my Lariat are just a little too firm.
The ride is kinda bouncy but I have yet to correct the tire pressure from almost 50psi so maybe that's it.

1. Having a key instead of push button start
2. Terribly outdated infotainment system
3. The rotary shift knob doesn't stop spinning when you get to park or drive
3. Lack of corner steps on the rear bumper (I'm short)
I have a step from another truck that fits into the hitch but with the Mav I don't need it.

I bought a loaded up Lariat and I like the radio- it sounds fine to me. I have the ActiveX seats and when I picked it up I moved the seat back a little, adjusted the steering wheel, and have not touched it since. Mine is very quiet. My auto start stop seems a little wonky- does not always work even with the AC off but I'm not sure I wouldn't disable it anyway. I mostly run short errands so I got a Motorola wireless dongle for Android Auto. I don't have a lot of passengers and I am careful so no problems with damaging the interior- more worried about when I take it in for service. Ford forgot to paint a very small area on the dash. I don't have a lot of miles on mine but so far I am happy.

I have a 22 XLT Hybrid with 12,000 miles on it now, and my bitches are:
1: Infoscreen is way too dark and not shieled from the sun. I use google maps and in sunlight, the screen directions is too faint to see. I did try to turn up the brightness but its still way too dim.

2: Passenger seat is not height adjustable. Having had back surgery, it's impossible for me to even get in the seat.

Minor bitches: only key start, will not remember the driving mode after the key is turn off.

Always with the negative waves, Moriarty, always with the negative waves...

I LOVE my Maverick EcoBoost! No issues in 11 months. It drives like a comfortable car, runs like a scalded cat, fits in a parking space and gets over 30MPG. I like everything about it.

Do I wish it had a different gadget and gilhickey? Meh, not really. I drive to get where I am going. I can drive 220 miles, pick up a thousand pounds of oats for the horses, do a couple of hours of sightseeing in Amish country, and then drive 220 miles home, feeling quite refreshed. This thing is a day trip delight.

I have been driving my regular cab, 2wd Mazda pickup since 1999. I very much prefer the Maverick!

You are going to be amazed by your new truck. Positive waves, baby!

I've read a lot of negatives about the sound system. Maybe it's because I'm in my 70s and blew out my hearing listening to loud music over the years, or the flight line noise while in the Air Force, or the fact that I've never really needed the best possible music while driving, but I have no problem with the sound. No, it's not the best, but I don't think it's that bad either. I remember having a single (crappy) speaker and mono in my early years of driving, so this is great compared.

Now, music in the house is a whole different matter.
My sound system is awesome I have no problem with it

I think I have adapted to the rotary dial and about everything else. Still to few miles on the truck to make any judgements. I may know this next week. Taking the wife and two young grandsons on a 1000 mile trip. If anything can go wrong, it may.

So far, I am with Chicolini....tutto bene.
