  1. Recall Number: 26C10 TRAILER MODULE REPROGRAMMING

I figured they didn't know what they are doing. Might see if I can get driveway service- those guys usually have it together.
  2. Recall Number: 26C10 TRAILER MODULE REPROGRAMMING

Got an email and postcard about this so I made an appointment online for today at 11:00. About an hour later they called and said they could not do it today because the last one took over 8 hours and I would have to leave the truck there overnight. I have another car but I'm not crazy about...
  3. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s Right To Repair Comment

I have a friend who worked at independent shops and then at dealers for 40+ years. He was competent but the stories he told me about the dealer service people were pretty bad. He had to repair a lot of the come-backs. With the way that flat time works he often made less than the guys who did the...
  4. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s Right To Repair Comment

We need an intelligent compromise if that is even possible. Manufacturers need to protect their intellectual product and should not be required to give that away. On the other side we need competition to promote better service and lower prices. If there was a price control on the price...
  5. Toyota CEO confirms: RAV4-based Unibody Truck is coming for the Maverick!

I was thinking about the Santa Cruz but liked the conventional looks of the Maverick much better so I went with that. Don't like the new face as much but still looks like a truck. Hyundai made less money on the SC than the Tucson so they dropped it. Unless Toyota figures there will be a net...
  6. DIY Floor jack and jack stand saddle: I've never felt safer

All wood has defects. You might go for years with no problem or it could split tomorrow. Plywood being engineered is less likely but it is still made of wood strands. Have a friend who used a piece of lumber with his press and I was there when it shattered violently.
  7. Passenger side Speaker Grill rattle -

I started getting some kind of a buzz from the passenger side. Since I was driving I just shifted the balance a tiny amount toward the back speakers and that took car of it. I don't use much bass though.
  8. "Just get a hatch back."

I've hauled the bagged stuff but I like the triple sawn stuff better. The place closest to my house sells a bobcat scoop for $29 which does not quite fill the bed. They just turn the bobcat at an angle and it goes in easy. When I get home I just hoe the mulch into my wheelbarrow- get about 5...
  9. 2025 Lariat Wireless Android Auto Stopped Working

I've been told the wireless adapters are not reliable in many vehicles. My first one (external) failed after a couple of years. It almost seems better for them to be external instead of built in- much easier to swap that way and the new ones are small and cheap. If a built in adapter fails you...
  10. Start-Stop Technology on 2.0L Ecoboost

My battery is never fully charged enough for the feature to operate. If it did I would buy the device to turn it off. No way thousands of extra starts does not affect systems.
  11. Getting rid of SiriusXM

I have an older car I don't drive much but I took it out yesterday and linked my new phone. Sirius seemed to play fine through the Bluetooth mode although I just tried it in the driveway. I haven't used that mode in a long time and figured out I had to hit the play button to get it to work.
  12. Getting rid of SiriusXM

Last year it went up a small amount but they changed me into a plan that does not go back to regular price after a year so I don't have to chat with them. The price will go up however. Next month it is going from $8.49 to $9.99. I only use it for music and they have a lot of channels available.
  13. Getting rid of SiriusXM

I don't drive the truck that much but when you have Sirius you can also listen to it on your phone. I listen to it while walking and working around the house using cheap wireless earbuds. You have to contact them once a year and threaten to cancel so they cut the price way down.
  14. Motorcycle riders, let’s see your ride.

Got this a few years ago because it was lighter and lower seat height than my previous bike. Easier to swing a leg over and move around when my joints are hurting. Rides a little rough- I may try to improve at least the front springs.
  15. Changed my first Maverick tire today

Changed a few in my time but the only way I would do it now is if I got stuck someplace with no cell coverage. I try to avoid those areas. Has anyone used a consumer grade 1/2" impact wrench to loosen lugs?
  16. Ford Sync doesn't like my Google Pixel 10

If Pixel is meeting the Android requirements it should work or Ford should not advertise their product as being compatible. As Android and Apple change their OS auto manufacturers should update their systems. Of course the phone suppliers can't make constant changes but they work with the...
  17. Never heard of the Maverick PU

Ford should send us all something when they hit that milestone.
  18. Rival Santa Cruz to be cancelled

All those videos and views and the guy doesn't know how to pronounce Hyundai. Pretty funny that it lunched the motor during the video though.
  19. Rival Santa Cruz to be cancelled

CEO of Hyundai in America Jose Munoz never liked the Santa Cruz because they made less money than they do on a Tucson. It was developed before he was in the job and I'm sure he is pleased to dump it. He never had any desire to sell more. I liked the SC when it showed up as a concept back in...
  20. Oil change at dealer with oil additive?

BG products are a Profit Fortifier for dealers.
