Fyi- after I installed a set of hood struts I adjusted the hood bumpers on each end. It put a little extra tension on the hood but kept it plum with the gaps and still level body surfaces. No issue opening my hood. And in fact after reading about the hood spring post- I may go ahead and get one...

Congrats. Almost exactly year ago mine was built and I took delivery on Feb 5. Don't get discouraged by ship and delivery date changes. I had 4 of them, and suddenly it showed up a week earlier then the last estimated delivery date I had received. So here is to you getting it as soon!
