I have the EB, but you're supposed to keep the engine running, and you can't take it out of park. Hope this helps!
Yep. I kept mine running and in park. I even left a couple minute buffer after it claimed it was done just in case. The next time I started it (next morning), it verbally told me that the install was complete.

Thanks for the heads up on the update @Sagara much appreciated!(y)

I just updated my 22MY XLT to the most current version. Went from G2.0.0.1_R22285A to G2.1.0.1_R22362A without issue. Just connected the Mav to my 2.4 network connection then tapped the update button twice and away it went!

With the EB, you only need the vehicle in the ON position. However, depending on the speed of your WiFi relative to the distance, you'll need to stay with the vehicle. It's about a 500Mb file you have to download from (Ford) Microsoft Azure server/cloud.

I've come back after an hour and the vehicle shuts itself off due to the idle timer.

I did mine last night... It took every bit of an hour to download and install. I didn't mess with it any afterwards. I will see if I notice anything over the next few days.

Thanks for the tips folks - I get very suspect cellular and WiFi coverage in the driveway so may need to find another location to make sure this goes smoothly. I kind of wish that Ford would do a USB download/upload option to avoid some of these over-the-air issues.

My 2022 XLT Hybrid still shows software version G1.8.0.1_RC15_R21461a.
I have scanned many times and it tells me no software updates available????

How do I do the soft reset?

Just to make sure, are you connected to a good wifi or hotspot signal? You may need to try scanning again. It took me two tries at first.

And for the soft reset, hold the power and seek-forward buttons at the same time. It will take a few seconds to shut off, then maybe 45 to 60 seconds to fire back up.

Just completed the update. It took all of 12 minutes. Soft restart was required. then verbal confirmation was given.

Same here but Im on 1.9. Tried soft reset and checked for updates multiple times and nothing. My other Ford truck updates fine so its not my wifi. Im thinking you may need an older version before it allows an update or my forscan changes are screwing with it?

I actually think there are two issues here. 1. Yes, you do seem to need to have a solid wifi connection to get the update to work. 2. In addition, Ford's servers seem to get overwhelmed easily.

Last time I completed an update, I was only able to successfully get it done after the update had been out for 2 or 3 weeks... First, you the system needs to be able to detect the update, which it can only do if Ford's servers have the capacity to respond to your request to check for the update. Second, the system needs to have a stable enough connection to download the entire update package without any corruption to the package.

I love my Maverick but this update process is the worst. I would rather update using a USB stick like I did on my Ford Focus, 15 years ago.

My system finally started updating on my 2.4Ghz wifi (after multiple attempts on my 5Ghz). Required four (4) seperate updates, each requing a soft reset after install (then heard a voice prompt after each soft reset "System update complete" or something like that. It stalled on the last update but shows the latest version # installed. We shall see...

When I first got my XLT in July 2022, I was able to update the software. For the past 2 versions, no matter what I try, I have been unable to get the software to newer versions.

I have done the reset probably 20 times. Tried home wifi, work wifi, phone hotspot, uninstalled Fordpass, reinstalled, bluetooth on/off, stood one one leg and held my breath....you get the picture.

At least 40 attempts over a 3 month period and it NEVER shows an update.

Only thing I know to do is schedule a visit with the dealer and add this to the list of things that they will have no clue about.

So far:
--Air Bag Recall
--Brake at low speed TSB
-- Stereo Update

I also found that my build date was May 4, 2022 which is one week prior to the cut -off for the Hybrid cable failure. We wanted to take the Maverick on an out-of-state trip in May, but it's hard to get on the interstate and wonder if you will break down with NO ability to fix the issue (last I saw the part was on back-order).

I am trying to like this vehicle, but Ford is not making it easy.

I am having the same issue but only with the latest update. The only reason I even care is because I am having issues with losing connection to my phone, the system crashing, weird audio glitches and etc.

Only thing I can think of to do is get this TSB done (referenced on Ford Owner site):
TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
Not Equipped With SYNC - Bluetooth/Applink/CarPlay/Android Auto/Media Player And/Or Customer Connectivity Settings Concerns

That sounds like it might resolve my problems and then I was planning to address the update issue after that.

Just for reference, this is for Maverick built before August 24th, 2022.

Thanks for that info. I didn't realize there was a TSB for the updates as well.
