1. Is this a legit upgrade?
2. Does it improve on the reverse camera image?
3. Any other options?
4. Any increased or expanded features?
5. Will this add XM?

it's been months, but recollection was that it was hardly a plug-and-play experience and might as well just completely DIY and save some $.

Don't do it. They do not include everything you need to complete this "upgrade". They also frequently change their pricing and seem scammy in many ways.

A number of us have done this, it involves making a harness.
It also requires changing the radio and a Apim plus a lot of forscan programming.There are a number of posts on this
I have had no issues with camera since and have XM also
