FYI you guys, Only the ICE EcoBoost Non Hybrid Maverick has an AGM battery.Correct
It will last longer being in a protected internal climate controlled environment than being under the hood with extreme temperatures ranges.
It is an AGM battery and is also vented to the outside
Ford has probably right sized it as it does need to power a lot of electronic stuff.
I replaced the factory battery on my ecoboost with an AGM. What I removed was definitely not an AGM, it was a flooded battery. An "enhanced" flooded battery but flooded nonetheless. I updated the BCM to spec an AGM for better charging characteristics and haven't had the deep sleep issues yet. I only drive a handful of times per week, usually 10 miles or less. Looking in the parts catalog, all trims of the ecoboost get the same flooded battery from the factory, no ecoboost models get an AGM.FYI you guys, Only the ICE EcoBoost Non Hybrid Maverick has an AGM battery.
The Hybrid is not an AGM
I don't know where all this misinformation about AGM batteries has been coming from. I will definitely be replacing mine with AGM eventually. Have had the dreaded deep sleep issue once so far. I'm kind of waiting to see if Optima comes out with a compatible one first.I replaced the factory battery on my ecoboost with an AGM. Do all batteries have the ability to have their vent rerouted? The battery needs to be vented to the outside because it is located inside the cabin of the vehicle instead of in the engine compartment.
So just read it like a regular old car at that point, right? If the 12v is flat you won't have headlights, radio, the car computer that it needs to work, and such, since they are all 12v systems.
Can you post a link to the manual showing an AGM instead of just the motorcraft site? I searched the 2022 and 2023 manuals online with no results for AGM:AGM vs Standard Flooded Battery
From the 2023 owners manual.
2.0L ECOBOOST - AGM battery: BAGM-348H6-760 (AGM in the part number)
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/battery-and-related-components/battery-7862483-1
2.5L, HEV - Standard Flooded Battery battery: BXT-99RT4-A

Part # doesn't start with AGM - it's BAGM - so the HTML manual won't pull it up like that. Or search the PDF manual. Or just check the "Motorcraft Parts" section. Can you post a link to the manual showing an AGM instead of just the motorcraft site? I searched the 2022 and 2023 manuals online with no results for AGM:

So it shows the same thing for the 2022 manual and as it has already been proven here by myself and others the 2022 ecoboost does not come standard with an AGM. You were looking for the reference to AGM in the manual, I provided it, that's all. It's listed as an alternative for EB, and no AGM option is listed for Hybrid (doesn't mean there isn't one available). So it shows the same thing for the 2022 manual and as it has already been proven here by myself and others the 2022 ecoboost does not come standard with an AGM. Oh Wow, I was just quoting the Ford Parts guy at my local Ford dealer and he looked it up on the computer. He told me the EcoBoost has an AGM battery. That is the part he showed for the replacement. Who knows for sure what is correct?I replaced the factory battery on my ecoboost with an AGM. What I removed was definitely not an AGM, it was a flooded battery.
