I want to air my grievance. I am mildly annoyed that I can spin my gear dial clockwise past the "D" position...

...that is all. Good day.
Just wait until you accidentally bump it while reaching for something on the console and unknowingly put in neutral like I did.😲

I know, but on the next car you buy you'll have to select the driving mode online and there will be a credit card slot for you to pay for the options you use. Welcome to the present.

You will get use to it. Never had one before and I love it. Just way more room
I have to say that I do prefer having more room to having a stick shifter. I was initially concerned that I wouldn't be able to shift into the right gear without looking but I HAVE gotten used to it enough that I can do that now.

It was designed that way to allow you to turn it to the right without having to look at the dial or dash for selected position. This was how it was explained by the design engineers

I love the dial, I love the fact that

Same, I find the dial to be super intuitive. Shifting to drive just whip it all the way clockwise and you know you're good. Going to reverse two clicks counter-clockwise, parking? whip it all the way counter-clockwise. I never have to take my eyes off of what I'm focused on and look down at it. I like not having a clumsy shifter protruding and taking up space. The dial is such an improvement over my Escape

I have the dial in my 2020 Escape. I got used to it fairly quickly. I've only ever overshot reverse, but that is only on occasion and not an annoyance. I'm usually in a hurry and just overspin it.

Anyone have issues with their gear dial? Saturday I swear I put it in park and the car started to roll away when I let off the brake. Then on Sunday after coming back to the parked car I tried to start and it said place vehicle in park. Had to cycle the dial and put back in park position to start vehicle. Maybe mine is failing like my window seals and ticking windshield. Someone said these trucks won’t age well and I agree.

Dial is new to me. I do the wheel of fortune spin each time I need to go into P or D. I’m sure I’ll break the wheel sooner than most.
