I had this happen the other day. Are you pressing the brake pedal when you hit start? If not, then you're only turning on accessory mode and the shift knob stays locked.

I had my foot on the pedal, but didn't have enough pressure on it when I hit start and it only engaged accessory mode.

mine stuck twice first time i finally got it to shift. yesterday no such luck. truck had to be towed to dealers. dealer is two weeks behind in repairs. hopefully loaner car today.

truck is back they pushed it through ford had to reprogram it. also took care of the recall. very happy
