dial shifter went bad

Find out almost 2 weeks ago. On my 2024. They tested it. I have problems getting stuck in Reverse. When I turn off the truck, than be try to start it. It will not start. Then move it to park than it will be fined every 2 months it do it. I tell my ford dealer to test it. Turn out when they turn back bad. And parts was on back order. Finally the parts come in. But I miss my truck, they have it for 2 days now. They say it will be ready tomorrow morning.

I’m used to driving a stick shift and my driveway is sloped down. It’s a hard habit to break.

My 2025 Maverick Hybrid Lariat automatically shifts i to Park from any drive selected when the Keyless Start-Stop button is push to turn-off the truck. The auto shift into Park doesn't turn the shift knob, electronics does Park selection.

I have problems with mine too but different.
Even withe engine "started" it will not turn to get in gear, it is blocked in the park position.
Sometime I have to turn the engine and and off several times before I can rotate the knob.

Silly question but are you holding the brake pedal down when you are trying to shift it out of park . I was forgetting that when I was getting used to the rotary dial when I first got her and finally figured it out

Which is a good point - because it could be an actual issue with brake-shift interlock.

Others besides myself have reported starting to hear it under the center console eventually, when it was not heard before.

Does you truck double honk when this happens? I have had this happen a couple times and the horn would honk twice when it happened.
