Not sure why FORD is offering something they cannot provide or placing limits. Bad business move and they will likely lose customers, especially if orders are not completed in a timely manner. Anything >3 months is unreasonable, imo.
Check out the Bronco Forum. Reservations opened in July 2020 and a lot of them aren't looking at build dates until 2022 or maybe even 2023.

I had a new espresso machine for my coffee shop all set to be delivered in early May. I placed the order in early April. My goal was to have it installed in time for my team to be used to the machine and operating it with no difficulty in time for our reopening in late May.

It didn't get delivered until early June.

There are a whole hell of a lot less parts in an espresso machine than a truck.

And I won't bore you with the numerous stories I could tell you about supplies my contractors needed being out of stock due to the pandemic.

I could have gotten pissed at the contractors like some people here are with Ford. But I knew they wanted to get the job done as quickly as they could so they could get paid. And it's the same thing with Ford. They don't get paid until we take possession of the truck.

I'm anxious to get rid of my 31 year old piece of crap truck. But I know getting pissed ain't gonna make that happen any sooner. So I'll wait patiently.
I work in manufacturing and completely understand how messed up the global supply chain has been for the past two years or so. I also just finished a complete kitchen remodel. The last of our appliances are getting delivered tomorrow. We ordered them in March. But I'm sure that's just Bosch screwing with people for fun, just like Ford. Why delight customers when it's so much more fun to redo your production schedule for the third time in a week? I know our plant managers love calling employees in on a Saturday to make up for shutting down on Wednesday because we ran out of parts.

This thread gave me flashbacks to my days working in an auto parts distribution center.
Inventory issues. Always.
We could only send orders to the floor for items in stock. We couldn't predict what would show up or when from our suppliers.
When they did show up, they would get taken to racks, then checked in as available.
But the problem is: the orders for the week had already been printed.
And those? Only the ones where we could fill them got printed based on known inventory at the time of printing.
And since printing only happened once per week for us, if yours got punted to the next week, but we got parts the same day as print, oh well. You still have to wait a week because that's how the system worked back then. (I've heard it's now better as it's a daily printing thing now for that particular facility).

I see how constraints and parts can fluctuate and how orders are built based on known inventory at the time they are pulled to be filled.

What I wonder about is... Is Rapid Red still Late Availability today?

It means if you haven't already been scheduled and have anything showing a 0% you have better chance of being struck by lighting than getting scheduled this week. If you are in the luxury groups it means you have a chance but they will both be low pull rates due to shortages.
Thanks, that's actually useful.

Lol here we go again Ford cannot deliver in time nor get their stuff together... More and more feeling I get this is going to be a paper launch hubbled together out of random parts.

I might have to pull out of my order as I am having issues with my Ford Focus that I am not trying to dump any money to resolve...

If that does happen, I will have to look elsewhere as I will need a vehicle.

My mav got all strikes against it lariat Lux check, hybrid check, hard folding cover check, and spray in check. I got rid of mud flaps cause they were a constraint when I swapped from xlt to lariat.

I can't wait till next week when we see the new post saying every version of the maverick is a current constraint.

What makes me sad is Ford always over promises and always under delivers....

Ford could not have known the level of interest they would receive for not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 new vehicles in the mach e, lightning, bronco and maverick. I suppose you can blame ford for being a victim of their own designing/engineering success.

Now if they could only solve this pandemic and the problems borne out of it, we'll all be just peachy.

I guess the silver lining in all this is that my down payment keeps growing the longer I'm kept waiting. I consider myself lucky that I have the luxury to wait. Sorry to those who don't.

Yeah, Ford just wants to yank your balls..... OR it's a chain supply issue?
Or... Just maybe...

14 % for the XLT with The Luxury Package, hmmm my odds on Prom Night were worse then that, but that went well and I’m sure this will too;) Hey, if we ain’t all laughing we’re all just stressing. And to all my Brothers and Sisters in Arms we don’t need any more stress in our lives at the moment, so look at this as Boot Camp, something we needed to do to get to where we needed (and wanted) to be:) It’s just more “Hurry up and wait” stuff :) Be Well. Our Mavericks (well my Wife’s) will be in our driveways before we we know it.

Only option I wanted was the spray-in bed liner and after reading a lot and watch YouTube videos, I ordered it and paid for it through my dealer.Same price. Awaiting my basic XL build to begin.

I see now that the Splash Guards are no longer Late Availability after I went to the trouble to delete them from my original order. 😂😂😂
They are still listed as Late Availability on the Build your Maverick page

Being new to ordering. I did not know there is absolutely no transparency to this whole process. A simple “we might not have all the parts to build x amount of vehicles this year” would have been great to hear before putting in a order. It really is not hard to be upfront on what “could” happen. Even if it’s a week by week change.

What? Every week the dealer network has been publishing late/constrained availability lists. The Maverick builder page even has each item thats constrained listed as such.

Ford does not know what availability is going to be month to month because there are massive shipment delays going on. 40+ container ships are queued up on the San Diego port, when normally there is only one or two. Not to mention the "ongoing" pandemic, or the massive wild fires, or the floods, or freezing snowy conditions in TX last winter. I get you want your truck, but a little self awareness goes a long way.
