  1. Jeepers ….$150 oil change???

My local mechanic does it for $55, full synthetic. He uses Pennzoil platinum. Typically I do it myself though, just more convenient.
  2. Would you buy an EV maverick for 25-30k?

I suspect a lot of the negative reactions are coming from the fact that BEVs are effectively being forced on people. With some states claiming they will ban the sale of ICE vehicles in some years. Any kind of forced cooperation is going to get backlash, its human nature. One negative of this...
  3. Would you buy an EV maverick for 25-30k?

I get that you are all enthusiastic about this and thats cool. but the fact still remains that EV manufacturers who have been in the game way longer then ford are saying its pretty close to impossible at the current state of EV tech to produce a EV under $30k with reasonable range. Its the ford...
  4. Would you buy an EV maverick for 25-30k?

Ford claimed they lost $36k on every EV they sold last quarter... how in the world do you think they will produce a low cost EV when they are losing money on high dollar EVs? This is definitely a I will believe it when I see it kinda thing. As for if I would buy one at $25k-$30k and the $7500...
  5. Private offer question

Ah ok thanks, yeah I just confirmed that with a call to ford marketing. rollover private offers only work on the rollover order.
  6. Private offer question

So the Maverick I ordered is supposed to get delivered to my dealer in a week or two. I had ordered an XLT lux, and at the time (estimating a 1 year order to build date) trading in the vehicle I had would have made it a wash price wise. Now it seems used cars have dropped a bit and my current...
  7. 2022 Ford Maverick XL 12300 miles. Was told I need new tires today.

I'm always a little surprised to see posts like this. I have 42k miles on the original continentals, fronts are getting close to the wear indicator and the rears still have plenty of life. Have not rotated the tires once, although I will soon to max the wear on the rear tires. My driving is 75%...
  8. Ford air tunnel testing: tailgate myth and tonneau cover (aerodynamics / MPG)

So what you are telling me is my tonneau cover is literally paying for itself.
  9. Electrical Issues on Hybrid: Dead!

I think they mean via the forums private messaging system, its the little mail envelop button in the upper right corner.
  10. Acceleration help from the Electric motor?

The electric motor is pretty much helping any time the battery is full enough to provide power. There is an EV coach that helps you see when the engine would come on, so you can try and stay in EV mode as long as you can. Its a fun game at first... but gets old after a while.
  11. Maverick Paint sucks.

Yes, there is a pretty good post someone did a while back. I think the guy was a detailer. Anyhow if I recall right it was 3-5 mil thick in various places. Pretty thin stuff. EDIT: found it...
  12. Private Offer for 2024 Maverick -- Ford dealer bulletin

If I got the 3400 offer, I would just break even on my XLT hybrid with lux pack it looks like... primary change that bothers me is I would end up with the drop in bed liner rather then the spray in bed liner. Thats a pretty minor issue though and one easily fixed once I get the truck.
  13. Ford Personal Offer

I hope its good, my XLT hybrid lux with spray in liner went from $27k to $31k and got the spray in removed to boot. I'm going to walk if the offer does not cover the increase. $4500 ($500 to cover line-X) is too big a pill to swallow.
  14. Reports from a salesperson (low order numbers for 2024 Maverick)

2023 order was a Hybrid XLT lux with spray in bed liner. Cannot get that combo now since the lux comes with a drop in liner too. Not a big deal, I can get LIne-X like I did on my current truck. Order went from about 27k to about 31k without spray in liner.
  15. Reports from a salesperson (low order numbers for 2024 Maverick)

I reordered my 2023-2024. If Fords promised buyer protection does not cover the full difference I will walk away from the order though. I'm not paying an additional $4500 for nothing.
  16. 23,000 miles and oil anxiety with my Hybrid

Not sure if anyone has said this before, but very few oil filters are rated for over 10k miles (there are some). Makes me think the oil change interval are more dependent on the filter being used, rather then the actual oil.
  17. Pennzoil Rebate/Deal

I just noticed Pennzoil is doing the $20 rebate for 10qt purchase deal again. Not sure if someone already shared this, but it ends up being about $30 for 10qt of platinum synthetic after the rebate when purchasing from my local walmart. I'm not affiliated or anything, just sharing a good deal...
  18. Maverick sales dwarfs Santa Cruz in Q1 2023 with 70% market share

My wife saw one for the first time last week. She turned to me and asked why it was not red. To my confused face, she said it should be red, because the truck had Santa Clause written on the back :ROFLMAO:
  19. Hybrid XLT Instrument Cluster

Eco mode just increases regen. It might lower responsiveness slightly from the electric and gas motor too, but its not much if it does. Eco mode also keeps you in electric mode a little longer at lower speeds. Its likely the couple MPG difference you saw was related to grade of the road or wind...
  20. Have a Maverick on Order, decided to borrow one on Turo to see what I think. It wasn't what I hoped it would be

Yeah, short of getting the seats reupholstered the comfort issue does not seem like it will just magically disappear. I did read somewhere that the lariat seats have a little more cushioning in them then the XL/XLT. I also heard some say that the heated seats inserts made the chair...
