Very Very Poor job on Recall

I have a Maverick hybrid the recall for the bottom Pam to drill holes in it was done at the factory in Mexico . In my opinion and I know everyone has one I think a 1st grader could of done better job !!!!! . Holes are not straight not even close and the material is very hairy and they left all kinds of fuss or what ever on the holes and I think they took my Maverick in a field or something when I took the pan down to change my oil all this grass fell out of the pan and it's never never been off road never !!!! the grass it self could of caught fire . Also the fussy hair stuff burns real good and fast . I hope I'm the only one but I thought I let all of you know . Very poor on Ford quality control.

Well ladies and gentlemen I'm about to eat CROW big time when I picked up my Maverick from the dealership I asked about the Fire recall I was told all 3 or the Mavericks that came off the transport carrier had the recall done at the factory in Mexico . I just got off the phone with service and one was done at the dealership guess witch one My Maverick!!!!!! !!! Right now I'm to upset to call the owner that I know very well they own many dealerships never had this happen before. To each one of ladies the Maverick club please accept my humble apology as I am eating crow right now and believing I will take this up with the owner of my dealership again my humble apology you are.

I'd stay away from that service dept if I were you. They definitely COULD HAVE, WOULD HAVE, and SHOULD HAVE done a better job.

Maybe it was done by the same contractor that Ford used to drill the holes in the spray-in bed liner.

yeah, they gave the guy a promotion and a bigger drill for this task!

The dealership never touched the pan it was done at the factory in Mexico and that's a fact ,fact !!!!!!!. Not a guess a fact 100 %.

Wonder what that is made of. Looks like some kind of spun bonded plastic. If so the only way to get a neat job would be to melt the edges like you do with nylon rope.

As to the grass, was that lawn grass or umm some other type of grass.................

Yep, it would need to be melted a bit to make the edges neat (that's what they did on mine).

Is it really that big of a deal?? Just ask for a new under shield and for them to redo the recall. I'm sure the service manager or the owner that you know would do that without issue. All you need to do is ask. If you ask and they say NO than you can get upset. The sloppy job was not acceptable, I am sure the service manager will agree with you and we should do what is needed to make it right. Try that before getting too upset.

This entire recall is a cluster f@@k! If Ford cared at all about how they handle this, they would replace all of the plates with a new one properly manufactured. This is laughable!

I glad you did a followup on who did the recall. I'm pretty sure you questioned how can a factory installed part look like that. I, like many other Hybrid owners feel relieved about having a dealer put holes in the splash guard with no concern how un profectional it looks. Thanks to you, I'll show them a picture of how I don't want my pan to look. Thank again!

Truck was built the middle of June took delivery on the 15 th of July
Just changed the oil 2 days ago 1775 miles going on a 4000 mile trip to Ca .

Due to the nationwide shortage of tools, these were done with a hammer and a flathead screwdriver...not bad considering!

This is the sort of thing, and with all the other issues, that makes me think I would be a fool to order a M23 Maverick. I can't imagine what it must be like managing a ford plant in Mexico.

Why would it be more difficult to manage a Ford plant in Mexico? They've been making cars there for a long time, and the plant that makes the Maverick has won several prestigious quality awards.
